Verizon needs more global phones BADLY. I don't know why they don't enable this in every phone?? They must make a fortune from international roaming and from what I understand GSM can be enabled in software on most chipsets these days.
They should team up with the "I'm rich" developers for a more expensive package deal.
Huh? I've surfed and been on a voice call on Verizon since the original Motorola Q. I think even my Samsung i730 did that.
So

best technology = (last gen technology) + 25% markup ?
HD radio is nice to have (I use it on my Zune HD) but only if it's in the player itself. Definitely not worth dragging around another crappy accessory with cables, even if it was free.
Are there any winmo 6.5.1 standard devices out? I'd like to try them...
AT&T guy told me that network issues were because iPhone had a worse range than normal phones. Wonder if this is true, but you never hear too many people complaining about their blackjack 2 or HTC dropping calls like hell.
Do these things have proximity sensors? The main thing I hated on my samsung saga, among 50 others, was holding the thing to my face and ending up in the "change time" screen. My iPhone doesn't do that, but with iTunes 9 sucking so bad and the disgrace of a network that is AT&T, I'm probably going back to Verizon and may buy this phone.
I am bummed this didn't make it. In the days of the pager, I had a timex beepwear pager watch. That was outstanding - it changed time zones automatically when you flew across them, I got text messages on my wrist, and it kept great time. It was a little big, but the automatic time update and setting really was nice.

I waited for spot to have a reasonable battery life, as I hate carrying crap around like chargers - unfortunately they never introduced anything with a long battery life. IMO that's what ultimately killed the thing.
This is great if you want your pr0n, financial data, work email, and entire life indexed by google servers. It will be free to the user but completely advertising supported - everything disclosed to whoever wants to pay.

Google's too nosy for my tastes.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
