Joyswag: PlayStation 3 (40GB) {Joystiq}

Jun 10th 2008 3:43AM Best Buy and eBay FTW!!! W00T. I am about as anti-Gamestop as one can get. Tired of requests for Subscriptions, Clubs and everything else under the planet.

May 30th 2008 1:47AM Sounds Interesting. I was an Ace Combat fan for the longest, because of how well they handled flight, and was SOOO looking forward to a totally NEW and next gen advancement with AC5, but it turned out to be the same old AC, Lame story line, bad voice acting, UBER repetitive Missions, Ultra-Mega Gigantor Star Destroyers crossed with Fighter Jets for Bosses, HYPER realistic Plane models with Incredible detail, and a total lack of desire or effort to put any hardware to use on mapping the Ground. Just a Grayish-Brown, blocky pixelated mess that I was supposed to interpret as Foilage and ground. And the occasional building with N64 quality textures on it. So I am Really excited to see that they are using an OLD(1977) technology like Sat imaging to produce realistic and detailed environments to fly in. Jesus, If I can get detailed GPS maps on my fricking CELL PHONE, I should be able to expect something better than N64 Textures in 2 colors in my Next-Gen Console Flight Sim. I cannot believe the level of detail on the ground used in some of the screenshots! Absolutely amazing!

Sony DualShock 3 unboxing: ready to rumble? {Engadget}

Nov 12th 2007 2:04PM You are sooo right Zombie Ned (and a few others). Why in the hell should the manufacturer of the GREATEST SELLING CONSOLE of ALL TIME bother listening to the THRONGS OF MILLIONS of fans of their hardware? Why shouldn't they just go out and design an all new controller just so they can join the "Next-Gen Controller" bandwagon?

OH WAIT!! I know why!!

BECAUSE THEIR FANS REQUESTED OTHERWISE. I always make sure when people are offering me money for one thing, I give them something totally different. Besides, you proved everyones argument right their in your eloquent time line. They took an AWARD WINNING controller design, and then added even MORE FEATURES to it, to increase the enjoyment and functionality of this established award winner. Then made it WIRELESS.

If it ain't broke, Don't Fix it.
If millions love it and hands it awards, Why change it?

Besides, you are probably a 360 Fan boy who thinks Microsoft has Innovated. OH WAIT!! They didn't innovate anything.. They made a GOD AWFUL BRICK of a controller that took 4 people to hold and after enough people bitched about their pointless and self serving attempts at GAUDY name pushing, (the whole reason for the GIANT controller, to put the biggest advertisement of the console they could have on it), they changed it to be more sleek and light and compact.

So If you are talking Innovation, the only winner in this existing console war is Nintendo, but I will take a PS3 any day over the Wii. Good on Ya to Big N for innovation. Too bad the system and software just doesn't appeal to me the way the PS3 and its offerings do. (P.S. - The 360 Controller ROCKS ASS. I love the feel of it.) But there is nothing Innovative about it. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE INNOVATIVE. Does it feel good in my hands? - HELLS YES
Does it give me freedom to grab a beer while still fragging? - HELLS YES
Does it look good? - HELLS YES.
Is it Innovative and exciting? - HELL NO.

P.S. - Probably could have been more short and concise, but I am at work typing fast. This will sum it up - STFU.

DualShock 3 PS3 controller hands-on {Engadget}

Sep 20th 2007 10:52AM LOL.. I guess I am a little touchy this morning then. I didn't read into his sarcasm. Just looked like criticism for adding a feature. Less Coffee, More MGS4 Trailer from TGS. OMFG.. OMFG... OMFG.. Did I say WOW too?

DualShock 3 PS3 controller hands-on {Engadget}

Sep 20th 2007 9:29AM Ryan, I usually enjoy your commentary, but this was just about the most nonsensically harsh thing I have seen you write in a while. This "atrocious "last-gen" feature" you speak of is one of the features that made the Playstation 2 the GREATEST SELLING CONSOLE OF ALL TIME. And Millions upon Millions of PS3 and PS2 owners were extremely upset about the loss of the feature. I personally bought my system long before it was removed, but have many friends who share overwhelming sentiments that a large number of games are just not the same without the feature. Mind you, this feature you are mocking so freely was immediately COPIED by Nintendo and Microsoft either natively or as an accessory to recreate the same experience. Is it absolutely necessary? NO. Neither are: Wireless Controllers, USB Ports, High Def Graphics, Hard Drives, Motion Controllers, and dozens of other features. Are they absolutely necessary to design and play games, no. Do they provide Developers yet another way to increase the level of immersion in a game, YES. So instead of TRASHING the fact that Sony decided to bring back an overwhelming FAN FAVORITE, just stick to the facts. 1. It's NOT Next-Gen. 2. It doesn't completely change the play style or enjoyment on current software. 3. It makes the Controller a bit heavier. 4. A large number of PS3 owners will be happy to see it come back. 5. Some people could care less. 6. It's news though.

Kyocera gettin' serious about buying Sanyo's mobile biz? {Engadget}

Sep 14th 2007 4:49PM LOL. So very much agreed. Would be nice to see new branding. Kyocera has been making craptastic equip for a while, and they only thing that has kept them on the map have been their unusual form factor phones that were popular with novice mobile users and children. ( need I mention the Slider SE-47 or the AWFUL K9 one of their hottest sellers EVER, and the STROBE The favorite with 12 year old girls nationwide). It would be nice to see both companies agree to Re-invent themselves with a new identity, to give them a fresh look. Their are some great resources in both camps, and we could see an upswing for both with this change.
