@Bro

Really? Where can I buy an Atom 330 processor? Seriously, I wanted to build my own nettop, but for the life of me I could not find a place that had 330s in stock.
@Packgrog

I couldn't take it any longer, and I just went out and purchased an Acer Aspire Revo 1600 for $199. It only has the Ion LE chipset, but I'm not planning to play any games on the thing, so I think it should do the trick.

For a while I thought I would build my own, but I couldn't find a single place that has an Atom 330. That may be why these things are sold out all over the place: there are no chips to be had. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this 330-HT.

Yikes! $458.99 for the DVD model? The non-HT model ran $349 at Newegg. Adding an IR remote and wireless N shouldn't add $110 to the price. You can get a wireless adapter for less than $30, and a remote for $30.

I was planning to get this for the holidays, but I guess I'll just have to buy the cheaper model and add the remote myself. Now, if only I could find one in stock somewhere........

For Chr*st sake, any device that doesn't have built-in 3G should not be able to label itself as an "Internet Tablet". When you're standing in the middle of a cornfield in Nebraska without WiFi, there's not going to be much internet, now is there?

Sure, it can piggyback on a 3G phone, but seriously, who's going to carry this around in addition to a smartphone?

Archos, put the damn 3G in the tablet and maybe you'll sell a few. Either that, or return to calling it a Personal Media Player.

I bet I'm going to make a killing selling all my *analog* games on Ebay.

???

How anyone can use the terms "3.7 inches" and "awesome" in the same sentence is beyond me.

Can we stop with the minuscule screens, and start releasing devices with some serious real estate? A 4" screen is the absolute minimum at this point, 4.5" would be acceptable, and 5" would be ideal (provided that the bezel isn't ginormous).

@billman2t

Did you check the Event Viewer for System errors?

I had the same problem. The start-up would take 2 to 3 minutes before finally finishing. The event viewer showed Volume Shadow Service errors. By default, Windows 7 schedules a restore point at midnight, and at start-up plus 30 minutes. I appeared that the storage couldn't expand fast enough, probably due to a heavy load on the boot drive.

I rescheduled the midnight task for 10:00 am, and the problem went away. My PC now boots in less than 30 seconds.

@NavParker

Is there a setting that will allow it to *add* sex and violence? I gotta believe that watching The Muppet Movie with a few head shots would be worth spending $99.
@AniMill

Thanks for the suggestion. I think we should do everything in our power to piss off the marketing types. After that, we're going after those damn bean counters!

Now, if only they'd figure out how to substitute a decent movie for a real stinker. For example, let's say I pop in 'Howard the Duck'. After 10 seconds of analyzing the movie, the player automatically switches to the Netflix software and starts playing 'Citizen Kane'.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
