Who really cares? Apple has revolutionized the way we get apps for our mobile devices and blogs focus on the rejection of a few. How about the 60,000 that didn't get rejected. Too many people able to sit on the sidelines and second guess these days. There is a reason why the term Monday morning quarterback exists. Perhaps all the blogs should build there own devices and market them to see how difficult it actually is. And then deal with the wining of a few rejected app developers. If I was Apple I would say F*@k off to the developer that has the nerve to complain when they don't get their way. It is kind of like the child running home to Mom to complain the teacher made him do his homework.
That is why I said it. I agree that my statement is completely ludicrous. But, it points out that at some point the line has to be drawn of what people are allowed to steal, abuse or otherwise use without permission. The current age of misuse and digital theft is disgusting and a large company like palm blatantly doing it is unbelievable. The reason why they are doing it must be to get the apple haters to buy their product. There seems to be no other logical reason.
It is amazing to see all the apple haters on about this and how it is their right to do what they want when they want. These are the same trolls that steal software have gig libraries of unbought movies and music and probably a hacked xbox with free games on it.

Enough is Enough. Apple made the store, the program the product. Palm did $hit! They have no right to use someone else intellectual property. Based on the same argument I should have free usage rights to your wives and girlfriends when I want. And, there is nothing she or you can say about it. Think about it people! Get real!
Anyone that believes MAC's are overpriced are still living in the pen. The interesting thing about what this article proved is the PC sheep that are stuck in the pen can only compare when they pirate their software. Microsoft can have them. I converted to Apple 2.5 years ago and I am happy to say that I purchased what ever software I needed. I also haven't had any issues with my laptop. Indifference to the HP, Compaq and Dell turds I had before that were incredibly slow after only 2 months of having them and then systematically destructed.

Even if the price is higher... I will gladly pay it knowing I have better quality material both from an engineering and software standpoint. Bottom line guys is that know matter how you slice it, a Dodge Neon isn't a BMW. And, as such the market has proven people will pay more money for better quality and better engineered products over time. No matter how many Neon's got sold and how many owners of them think they are great cars.
Halogen gives a true white light. LED is traditionally very blue. Regardless of the power savings I still can't understand how so many people have CFL's in their house. Orange skin and yellow teeth. The colour cast is absolutely horrific. Halogen is the only way to reveal true colour which is why every jewelry store, art gallery, and fine car dealership use them to wow. Look at a swarovski display with the tiny halogen lights they use in them. They make everything look amazing.
I still don't understand the NA manufacturers fascination with bringing Electric/Hybrid cars to the marketplace. In the rest of the world where a fuel crisis hit about 20 years ago they use highly efficient diesels. If 60% of cars being sold in Europe are diesel we should be doing it here as well.

On a recent trip to England, I spent quite a bit of time in many different diesel cars from many different manufacturers. All were returning MPG around 55. Hybrid is simply a waste of time and money.

Proven technology and great performance. It is time the NA market is taken down the correct path. A Ford Escape Hybrid or an Escalade Hybrid are truly a simple waste of time and bring to great light the American Ignorance when it comes to consumption and greed. There are efficient alternatives already out there. People need to embrace them. Hell, GM owns Opel in Europe. The Astra there has a efficient diesel returning 50 mpg. But here we only get the gas model. Maybe we need to look a little deeper at the Oil Industry lobbying and understand why we are where we are. Politicians are wooed by oil money. Simple as that.
Amazing! This coming from the company that for the last year has tried to convince everyone a touchscreen isn't good to use or do e-mail with.

Leave it for what it is. They are already two generations behind the iphone. It will take them at least three years to catch the current one. They should stick with what they do best. Convincing everyone they need a business only email machine that has to have a physical keyboard. Similar to how MS has convinced everyone that viruses, spam and malware are a necessary evil of computing.

I am curious to know why for that price someone wouldn't simply buy an apple TV? This product as a category simply makes no sense to me whatsoever.
Here is the only question I have...

Don't computers make the best e-mail machines? And, if so the closer you can get to a computer wouldn't that be the best thing going. Now, if you can transcend that into a handheld device again wouldn't that be the better of choices?

I have had multiple BB's and now have the iphone. The mail is just like having it on your computer. (mac or pc)

What amazes me is the non acceptance of technology marching along. BB was cool when handhelds couldn't pop a thing well or look like true e-mail. It is all very late 90's. I suggest all the people concerned about the long lived BES starting planning elsewhere for tech fix. whether it is Iphone or not technology marches on and the BB is simply old hat. You just simply can't polish a turd. And, to the poster regarding 14 million subscribers... Pretty sad given they have been at it for almost twenty years. Not to compare but the Idevice has been out for just over a year total and only a small portion of the world. I think it would be unwise to compare the little company from Waterloo before the wave hits and people realize what they could have vs don't with BB.

Interestingly the direction Rim thinks we want is flip phones that look like KRAZR's with Pearl Balls. Try typing anything on that piece of shit and you will eventually kill yourself anyway.
I am in Canada and just switched to Rogers with new numbers. I waited for a week before porting over my old Telus numbers to Rogers. So, by that account if I hadn't done it the day of the launch Telus would assume that I didn't get an Iphone. These statistics and numbers mean virtually nothing about the impact the iphone will have to a company that doesn't carry it. The bottom line is carriers had the opportunity to participate with certain conditions. Some saw the light and said we can step out of litter box. Others scoffed and said no way will this make any difference to our business model only to now realize the box they are in needs to be emptied and filled with new ideas and business models.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
