I'm just wondering when this recession dies down will all these companies have "Help Wanted" signs everywhere to bring the count back to 5000 more into the company. Or will this recession leave a dent in the economy lasting for decades?

Sadly HTC thinks it's best to have a chin that gets in the way of typing, so you can have a bigger looking phone? Designers spend a lot time shaving off unneeded material or weight from their devices, and yet the chin remains :(

Can someone please tell me why instant-on OS's so popular? A computer goes out of standby in seconds max, into the full OS. Why shut down the notebook in the first place?

I had really high hopes for this presentation today, and thankfully Palm did it..
This phone looks so good so far and it's one of the few on the market that is able to mix features with non laggy speed. I have an iphone and I am excited for this to enter the Canadian market, hopefully for the same 200 dollar price.
To me this seems like an excellent upgrade from my first gen iphone, I would love to have a non recessed headphone port as well as a physical keyboard (not that I can't type on the iphone, just that it takes up space on the screen).
My largest beef with the iphone though is the safari os, it seems great until it crashes which to me happens a lot. Hopefully this phone will fix this "issue".

GPS!
non restrictive applications
having all the same sensors as the iphone (proximitiy, display dimming, accelerometer)
All in all this seems like a good upgrade for me and assumingly many people, shocking to say this came from Palm.
I loved Palm devices since their old black and white models and it was a shame they haven't updated that os in so long, glad it all worked out for them.

Calm down people, they will definitely work on the iphone.
The thing I hate about commenters on engadget is they always write the most hated comments towards Apple during the first announcements, ipod nano...macbook air...cinema..macbook, list goes on. A few weeks later, people praise them.
