NVIDIA Tegra smartphone due from a "top five" manufacturer before 2010? {Engadget}
Jun 30th 2009 7:42AM Outputs 720p over HDMI.
I would consider switching from iPhone for a Tegra powered Andriod phone, but Microsoft WinMob ... meh!
Panasonic Z1 wireless HDTV appearing in US retailers {Engadget}
Jun 27th 2009 6:25AM Aye, no power-cord then?
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Rather than simply plug one end of HDMI cable into source and the other end into display, one has to get two devices to 'talk' to each other over wi-fi network -- like we all know that's perfect and always full bandwidth with no issues.

Jun 25th 2009 12:44PM @ EI8HT: Dual Shock? This is a PlayStation emulator, which was pre Dual Shock. Notice the controls are the original PS gamepad design.
Rumor: Rockstar New England's QA department laid off {Joystiq}
Jun 24th 2009 1:37PM QA are not developers. Quality Assurance are testers and bug finders.
No matter what industry -- banking, healthcare, travel, government, etc. -- it is always the QA guys that get fired first in technology team downsizing.
Every time.
Analyst: PlayStation Motion Controller better for core gamers than Natal {Joystiq}
Jun 24th 2009 6:46AM Can't Natal look for glowing balls, like Sony's PS3 solution to motion controls?
Not even Blu-ray's board of directors know how to spell Blu-Ray {Engadget HD}
Jun 23rd 2009 10:44AM Not to be nitpicky, but "—" is an em dash, a "–" is an en dash, and "-" is a figure dash (or hyphen).
An em dash is the width of an "M" and and en dash is the width of an "N" -- see the names are the clue.
If you are going to correct someone, try to ensure that you are right. ;)
Sixth European Track Pack invades Guitar Hero: World Tour {Joystiq}
Jun 12th 2009 1:47PM Why should it be noted? Personally I could care less about people's sexual preferences.
Although if you are going to note it, for someone who is "bisexual" Placebo's singer/guitarist spent many years with a woman and fathered her child. I've always thought Brian Molko's "bisexual" is like David Bowie's in the 1970s, i.e. a line to shag hot chicks.

Jun 12th 2009 5:09AM Is that what you say to your mom when she asks why you don't have a girlfriend?
Sixth European Track Pack invades Guitar Hero: World Tour {Joystiq}
Jun 12th 2009 5:04AM Placebo are from London, and I saw them play a couple of weeks ago at the warm up for their summer European tour of festivals.
Their website is .co.uk and not .fr so some mistake -- although they are huge in France, more so than they are in UK.
Windows 7 goes on sale October 22nd {Engadget}
Jun 2nd 2009 4:02PM Oh yeah that right, because like Solaris has eleven versions too. Not. Oh wait ... are there other OSes apart from Apple's who only offer one version of OS?
In all other OSes I have everything available and just turn off stuff I don't need, why can't I make use of that 'Programs & Features' Control Panel and do the same in Windows? Would that be so terrible?
Personally I buy licenses for and install Enterprise on work PCs and Ultimate at home, and then do precisely that ... turn stuff off and disable it.
But I do wish they would stop bothering with 32-bit versions, continued support of old hardware -- whose going to BUY and install Win7 on old hardware anyway, and they have a VM-machine for compatiblity anyway -- prevents the development of 64-bit versions of drivers and applications. When Microsoft switched from 16-bit to 32-bit support in the olden days 16-bit was dropped far quicker than 32-bit has been these days.
