Im honestly going to kill someone if they take away gaming online and make it into a subscription service. The WHOLE point of abandoning my 360 was because i didnt want to pay for XBL anymore.
i would totally jump on this if it wasnt a 50 dollar prepaid visa card =/ Not much of a rebate there..
@Ineed911

are you kidding me? $500 for a smartphone UNLOCKED and UNBRANDED is a REALLY good buy. Try to get an unlocked iphone or any HTC device and you are spending AT LEAST 500 bucks
@Stem Four

wasnt it just on Engadget, Slashgear, and Gizmodo and every other gadgetry outlet that the device was shipping to vendors? Therefore it is safe to assume it is coming to your doorstep within weeks (but less than a month)
oranges and apples there buddy...

keyboard phone vs. a non keyboard phone. a fairer comparison would be the touch 2
Why is 649 considered expensive? An unlocked iPhone 3GS 32GB about the same price if you dont buy it on contract....
if anyone knows how to get that shirt, do share!
As a previous WM user, I can say that WM is a very unintuitive OS to use that really required the stylus. HTC has tried hard to skin over the OS to be more finger friendly, however covering up the mess doesnt mean its out of the way. You will still find the annoyances once you go into the programs.

Maemo 5 on the other hand seems VERY finger friendly as easy to use right ouf the box.

I loved my WM device and probably would get another, but Ill wait on WM7 before I hop back on with Microsoft. :) Until then, Im excited about the N900! :D
Forget about it then...

Nokia N-series, have not subsidized by a US carrier in years...if ever...
I definitely agree. I see countless people throw away their WinMo phones because they just dont know how to utilize it. Its just way too technical for the average joe. If they can just simplify everything, I think that would be one hell of a step towards the right direction
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
