Service manual reveals there might be a Touch HD with North American 3G after all {Engadget Mobile}
Dec 19th 2008 9:11PM Even if they do release this do you guys realize how much it will still cost? Look at the X1(a), it's 600-700 freaking dollars. You might as well port one from overseas.
Samsung's Android phone hitting Sprint and T-Mobile by June {Engadget Mobile}
Dec 19th 2008 9:10PM I'd give anything to port Android onto this crappy Instink. Oh well, I should have known better. Anyway, I'll just wait for my dream phone. 3-4 inch screen WVGA, slide out (or whatever new invention they come up with) keyboard, running on 4G/WiMAX and the Android OS. Yeah.. drool.
Sprint's Treo Pro coming in January along with a pink Instinct {Engadget Mobile}
Dec 14th 2008 9:08PM Of all the colors to come out on, it's Pink? Why not red? Or white? Or both? Somebody separate must be doing the managing for the Instinct because they're just failing everytime with it.
Sprint keeping a watchful eye on G1, will offer Android when it's good and ready {Engadget}
Dec 11th 2008 10:38PM Sprint screwed me over with the Instinct. I HOPE they crash and burn to the ground.
T-Mobile G1 now available in frosty white {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 25th 2008 4:09PM I would want a limited edition bright green like the Android logo. But any other colors? Probably not. Maybe red, but that's highly unlikely.
Latest Samsung Instinct firmware update looks promising {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 24th 2008 9:41PM This thing will never be an iPhone killer as far as aesthetics and userability. But the phone is OKAY now with the update. It's still a pain. I would much rather have a G1. I would get the Touch Pro but all Sprint can give me is a 100$ discount off of a fully priced phone (which is still 400$) so screw it. I guess I'm going to hold out until there's an Android phone that resembles the HTC Touch HD (and maybe run on 4G - like the russian one, hell, I would take that phone even if it is WinMo.)
Sony Ericsson's X1A surfaces in Best Buy's inventory {Engadget}
Nov 10th 2008 4:40PM I want to know which carrier it's going to. Since it's a.. what do you call that.. GSM phone? It's either T-Mobile or AT&T right? I sure hope it goes to T-Mobile for their cheaper pricing.
Anyway, AT&T already has the Fuze (aka Touch Pro), why do they need another one? Sprint has the Touch Pro and the Diamond, AT&T with Fuze and BB Bold, Verizon with the Storm, Touch Pro, AND Omnia, and what does T-Mobile have? The G1? Come on, more variety!
Not that I'm pro T-Mobile, I'm just pro-cheaper plans. I'd actually prefer it if the X1 came to Sprint, since I'm here already.
The better part of Nokia's smartphone roadmap goes on display {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 10th 2008 4:06PM Despite Nokia not being as popular as the iPhone, RIM Blackberries or the Android (OS), I still think that Nokia is one of the better handset manufacturers. They make some of the most interesting phones, and I support them. I remember seeing that one avant-garde stick phone and I was immediately obsessed with getting one. Unfortunately it lacks any features, but it sure did look futuristic and odd - and beautiful.
I look forward to what Nokia will come up with. Hopefully another fashionable, artsy avant-garde phone with a 3.0-3.8 inch screen, slide out keyboard and Android! OH god, that would be perfect. As perfect as what could have been with the Touch HD and Android. Ugh. Speaking of Touch HD, HTC is another good handset manufacturer in my book, but their stuff is more refined. Nokia is definitely more stylish. Unfortunately, for some reason, the US tends to not pick up any of those stylish phones. Those dull idiots at Nokia USA.
Apple's new iPod chief ordered to stop working {Engadget}
Nov 9th 2008 4:36PM Who cares about that guy. Who's that other bald one next to Jobs? Hmmm..?
Ericsson: 20 megapixel cellphones shooting Full HD video in 4 years {Engadget}
Nov 7th 2008 12:48PM How come there's no mention of battery life? With all these features in the future, batteries will need to have at least five times as much power compared to batteries nowadays (which as we all know already is bad - right iPhone and other smartphones?). Some sort of natural charger (like solar or what have you) that's built in to the phone would be preferable. That, or just a battery that can last for a couple of weeks of use without dying.
