"Hay, let’s build a big ugly tower and then install a bunch of solar panels in its shadow."

Genius!
For a Sony exec, I'm impressed with Phil's diplomacy. Then again, perhaps he's trying not to burn any content bridges.
Having Engadget maintain a wikipedia-esqe page for popular devices would be cool. Just an up-to-date editorial overview (like this) and an aggregation of the blog posts would be an awesome feature (that would separate Engadget from the rest of the pack).
"In fact, David's straight-up statement might be its biggest detractor -- we'd be surprised someone with full-on insider info could actually manage to get out a word like this without a few men in black suites taking him down."

David seems to be in a good position to comment on strategy versus the competition, but theres enough ambiguity in his statement to leave thing open. E.g. How does one value extra features?
And you guys haven't even seen the Engadget edition yet. ;)

I hope lowly game designer guy is more creative with his game than his similitude.

Let's see if we can't make some more shitty similes:

Games are like the fruit grocery; colorful tantalizing fruit that eventually spoil on the shelf.

Game design is like a bad Photoshop; downright disturbing but one can't stop looking at it.

Chris Buffa's op-ed is appropriately self-critical, and calls for only positive change. There’s nothing to fear from what he’s selling, and there’s no benefit in becoming a blogging apologist.
Is that Kevin Spacey? Third row, second from the left...
Microsoft even intentionally segregates the company brand with the Xbox variety (baberg, have you unplugged your keyboard yet?). This was done to create a gaming brand distinct from the operating systems, BSODS, and office productivity software that people associate with Microsoft. Case in point: just now, on the radio, was an advertisement for Seattle’s Endfest 15, “brought to you by Xbox 360”… *Not* 'Microsoft Xbox 360.'
Ah come on, everyone's Entitleated to their own Gamersum.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
