I want a shirt like that
if you went through all that trouble why would you build it into a 15" screen?
and he goes out swinging!
source says it takes 50mAH away from the battery so the drain would be "negligible"
I have a carputer in my Scion tC. Mine is custom built though. Most
people that use carputers use car specific software to cover up the
Windows UI. This software is generally refered to as a "Front End".
Here is a video of mine using Streetdeck as the front end software.

Oh BTW carputers use hibernation that triggers when the key is turned
off or on. The average boot time for me is around 12 sec from ignition
to music.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
