Just wanted to say loved the Futurama reference, Alex.
A Comment.
I'm going to go back and second (seventh maybe?) the MechWarrior/Battletech MMO. I remember having a great time back in the days of MechWarrior 2, playing Netmech over Kali in leagues like The Killing Zone and the Grand Council. While the Grand Council was primarily a ladder, I remember TKZ being a blast.

You'd join up with a House, Clan or Merc unit, and then you'd be battling it out, basically guild warfare on various "planets" determined by their environmental settings and maps. Limited in weight classes by what your unit both owned and brought with them, it pulled together a great framework back before that was the big thing.

I would spend $15 a month on that. In a second.
I'd go with Mac integration (though I'm not a Mac user myself, it's nice to always have the option)

And more importantly, and not necessarily a Software update thing, but get Marketplace in Canada. I'm looking at either a new 16GB Nano or a Zune 16, but right now, the Nano wins as there's no Zune Marketplace for me to shop at. Not that it would be a deal closer, but for me, a lot of the wireless benefit would be Zune Pass, and otherwise, I'd rather go with a Nano.
But I always watch my backlit screens with a flashlight in my mouth :(
Well, I've been trying to decide what to do, my good ol' original 4G iPod 20GB (U2 Edition) is about on it's last legs, and this might be the replacement. Don't feel like spending over $300CAD for a 16GB Touch, and the 16GB finally allows this to serve as my main player.

Had considered jumping ship to the Sandisks (bought one for my fiancee, nice piece of equipment) but rumors are they're having some shuffle issues, and I'm on shuffle 50%+ of the time.

Plus, I'll admit it, I'm lazy and like iTunes to just sync everything for me without having to think about it.

Though, I'll also admit, wireless sync a la the Zune sounds tempting too . . .
Man, I thought that the whole argument to locking down the apps store was so that phones wouldn't be running apps that would negatively affect the network.

Maybe they should have started with the firmware. . .

@Schmitty

The Globe and Mail had an article on this as well, apparently it'll be unlimited on-device data (No tethering) for $10/mo added to any voice plan.

Hmmm . . . anyone read Eastern Standard Tribe?
Didn't one of the Ghostbusters movies have that actually happen?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
