Dorian, you do know that the Macbooks and Macbook Pros are already 1" thick, right? By your definition, the Macbook is already an ultraportable.
Where are all the new phones we're supposed to see at CES?
So you get a 1.5" thick display in exchange for a frickin 4 inch bezel around the picture?
Mile: Actually the FCC mandates that all new televisions have digital over the air tuners, so yes, there has to be a tv tuner in this tv.
It is called the "journalistic we". Google it.
Stoomaster: "Mobile phone" just sounds more proper to american ears, so that's probably why Jobs called the iPhone a mobile phone, but most people I know have dropped the cell and just call them phones. Eg: Where's my phone? Can I borrow your phone? Who's phone is ringing, etc.
Pete: The iPhone has a dedicated h.264 decoder to decode regular videos, so that's how it will achieve better battery life with h.264 youtube videos.

Um, so are the $500 and $600 price points still official? I thought there were rumors that Apple would bring down the price with a contract. I guess it's staying at $600 :\
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
