Finally fed up with Apple and their cheating ways. I have been a longterm devout apple consumer; I even stood in line yesterday to buy the new iPhone. I currently own a Macbook pro and several iPods (since new and ??improved ones come out every other week). Recently my computer has been shutting off by itself. Most http://www.batteryfast.co.uk/acer/btp-37d1.htm likely a battery issue. The computer is a little over a year old and I even bought the iCare package. I call Apple and they state that my battery is faulty but it is over a year old and that it is a consumable resource. What they are basically stating is that even if you buy warranty on your product, their batteries are only good for one year; after this extensive period, you are on your own.
Happened to mine 3 or 4 months ago. Took it into a Apple authorized service center and they gave me a new battery. Couple of weeks http://www.batteryfast.co.uk/acer/btp-60a1.htm
later the flimsy wire connecting to my power brick burnt out for no appreciable reason ... they replaced the power brick too.

What do we want? Flawless hardware ... but given that that is always going to be hard to control, I am happy to make do with flawless service.
I don't think it matters which brand you buy, if you're unlucky then you'll get problems. Remember too that people are much more http://www.batteryfast.co.uk/acer/btp-59a1.htm likely to shout about something if it goes wrong than if it does what it's supposed to, which does give a slightly warped perspective of how good a product really is.
I suppose I'll believe that, when you add in cost of shipping etc, customs tax, and probably commission if you can't make it to Japan in person.
We tested each of the flashlights by using the two test batteries. We then labelled each flashlight with the battery brand name and put the different batteries in each marked flashlight.

Before going to bed we will turn on all the flashlights at the same time and left them on overnight. We'll note down the time that the flashlights were turned on. When we wake up we will watch the flashlights until they go out and will record the time. If one goes out before we wake up, we will get two more of the same type of battery and watch it during the day.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
