Not 802.11n? Is Sony out of their mindes?

Oh yeah, never mind.
No, because the box makers make it nearly impossible to actually use the Firewire ports for anything useful. Shoot, the one thing I HATE about my TiVO HD, which I love otherwise, is the fact that the freaking Ethernet is like mid-90s slow when there is no reason on the planet they didn't built in Gigabit Ethernet, other than being freaking cheap. And wanting you to not move your content around much.
@Nilay Patel

I guess you didn't see the news then yesterday, where the agreement was a part of their settlement.
Guys,

Psyster has made an agreement with Apple that allows them to continue. They just don't pre-load OS X.

But man, that's a lot of moolah to get dinged for, when they build fewer than 800 machines. Well over $1,000 a fauxMac.

There's a reason DSLRs follow the same form factor that SLRs established decades ago. It's the most hand-holdable form there is. Ergonomics makes all the difference when you're holding an object to your eye, and have to hold it steady and manipulate the different functions of the camera.

This beast will not allow you to hand-hold at a slow shutter speed and focus manually (sometimes you have to do it yourself). Let alone have space for the requisite hardwarein side.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
