@Bender the great
It's saturday...

Price fixing and shoving product down the consumers throat is all they know.

The issue for them is not business sense, it's lack of creativity.
@Sanskrit
No, competition means less money for them.
I pretty sure this isn't just a simple gift... let's think about it:

Google revenue comes from internet advertisement
People buy lots of products during the holidays
People are cooped up in airports
People are given free wifi
People see advertisements for products they want to receive/give
People search for products they want to receive/give
People click on products and make purchases
Google makes lots and lots of money

Sounds like a business strategy guised as a "gift"

If the "feet" sit above your knees it would either angle the screen towards you (making it harding to see) or fall off your lap because the "feet" aren't holding it up. The "feet" seem to bare most of the weight of the laptop and so if they aren't resting on something the adamo seems like it would fall.

The other option is to rest the feet on my lap, but that seems like it could get uncomfortable as the feet would dig into my thighs.

I'll stick with my thinkpad, thank you. Pure function.
This will not work as a laptop because it will not work on your lap... Which means I cannot easily sit on my couch and use it...

fail.

Be careful what you wish for... if Ballmer hears you, he might force the devs to add support just to see it!

I think the issue here is not Windows 7 but all the ad-ware that got stuck on there by HP. OEM's can add in this extra software because software companies (like Norton) pay them to. This is why a "clean" install of windows is so much better, because you don't install the useless software that comes in a shipping machine.
Wow, I think that these Entelligence articles are getting a little silly. Every time they end up praising an apple product of some sort or bashing Microsoft in some way. From the "Stain on my OS" article to this article where he calls the ipod touch an MID to the article where he bashed SPOT to the article where he coddles Steve Job's balls for his letter on DRM...

I'm tired of this... Can I have an Entelligence free Engadget?
**this was supposed to be in reply to Jason Dash above...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
