Does no one view all this as a major invasion of privacy?
I'm a student and this is the first thing I'd spend my (parent's) money on.

No reason it needs a cd drive or even less a SDHC slot. I love the size (obviously) and think a netbook would be stupid. Hopefully Steve agrees.

My biggest request would be upping the battery life and horsepower, as a computer this mobile should last longer.
It's fine to say people should have to pay for XP, no one is arguing that. Use all the metaphors you like, it doesn't change the fact that isn't the issue.

The issue is, MS is saying you have to pay for a Vista license (or some Vista premium) in order to install XP, a completely unrelated and PRIOR product. Now, if they had competitors this would not be a problem, as even one competitor would undercut them and drive their XP sales to zero (which they might claim they wouldn't mind). However, because they are a monopoly (can anyone else sell you XP?), they can get away with charging exorbitant prices unless courts intervene.
I see you Mike. And I'm smart enough to uncheck "E-mail me when someone replies to this comment"
That was my sentiment initially, but then I remembered cable... I mean, you are clearly paying for Comedy Central, just less than for HBO. Does that mean TiVo should offer a subsidized and non-subsidized subscription? Then maybe we could get a TiVo to get around our TiVo's.
RIP iPhone, we hardly knew ye...
oooohhh I want
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
