Rayovac Hybrids have been out for at least a year and seem to have the same tech as these eneloops. The hybrids are cheaper than the Energizer rechargeables, work right out of the package, hold their charge longer, and work longer in high drain devices.

I've been steadily replacing all my batteries with these hybrids...The difference between them and the energizers is simply incredible...especially in my digital camera and my xbox360 controllers.

Anyway, they've been out for a long time...so I don't get the excitement about the eneloops. C'mon Engadget, you're supposed to be cutting edge.
The car charges in 8 hours if you use a 220 V outlet. You know the kind that I (and many others) have in their garage to run a freezer. The kind that was a $50 option when I had my house built. I'm pretty sure that anyone that can afford a car can afford a 220 V outlet.

And it would be great for my commute! I drive only 25 miles each way to work, but that's only if you take the highway (so no bikes). If you took bike-able roads, it would be about 40 miles. 80 miles a day would be a bit much for me to bike.

I hardly ever travel more than 30 miles on a day to day basis. However, everything is like 15-30 miles away, so no walking. And did I mention there's no mass transit in the Norfolk-VA beach area?

Now if they could just get the car down to around $40k. Even a $60k sedan is a bit much.

I always played as the Spartan Federation. Sister Miriam was a nutcase and the Asian chairman was a crazy fascist. Lady Diedre would act all naive at first, but then she would turn the entire planet's fawna on you.

The extreme personalities and pretty good AI made me really hate or like the different factions. I didn't realize how much I miss that game until now...damn you EA!...you better produce.
I have experienced the RROD from overheating. In addition, just the other day, my 1 yr old closed the glass door on the cabinet where my Xbox is located. I didn't notice (too busy rocking Rock Band), and the next thing I knew the system shut down and I had 2 blinking red lights. Fortunately, it worked again after I let it rest for a while.

You would have to pry my 360 out of my cold, dead fingers before I would give it away. I use it as an extender, DVD player, and for games.

However, I live in constant fear that it is going to fail. The darn thing sounds like it's trying to cool the sun half the time. They really need to redo the thermal design.
Sorry...Fail
I absolutely love my SwiMP3 1.0. I use it all the time, and everytime someone at the pool has to check it out. However, these Ubanana's look sweet!!!!...might be time to ebay my SwiMP3.

As for the controls in the back...you're supposed to be swimming so you really don't spend a lot of time fiddling with the controls. Set it up and go!

Now if they could just make one that supported AAC (MP4) so I didn't have to have duplicates of my songs.
Selling better? It seems that 360 versions outsold the ps3 version 2-1 in terms of pure numbers.

The lower per console attach rate benefits Microsoft in one of two ways: Either

1. There are so many good 360 games that people do not feel the need to pick up GTA IV.

or

2. The 360 base is more diverse, so people (like my wife) are perfectly content with Katamari and don't want GTA IV.

either way, bad news for Sony
They actually look like the Dell XPS line which have been out for over a year.
Man, I hate Dell. I've never replaced a Dell on my own terms...they've all failed on me. Both my laptops had their screens fail after 2 years. And my xps200's hard drive failed 1 week after the 1 year warranty expired. Meanwhile, my 4 year old abspc is still running like a champ.

You would think I would stop buying them...but they're just so convenient and cheap...can't stop...somebody please stop me.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
