I've had an Avic-z3 for a year and notice none of these problems, but i think I've sped up my unit by swapping the hard drive with a 200GB 7200 speed drive. The new series seem a step back without a hard drive, and most of the problems are a result of that. My boot up takes about 5 seconds, and the bypass i put in scraps the warning screens for NAV and front seat video. i slapped a direct tv mobile antennae on the roof ($2800) and now I get 250 channels nationwide. Scrap the f series and get a unit with a hard drive, like the z3. the next most attractive option is the nakamichi japanese unit, but it will cost $3000
