Terminal Tip: Enable Safari web inspector {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Dec 11th 2008 5:48PM I think the Safari 4 Developer Preview uses the same inspector as the recent WebKit nightlies. I agree, the inspector is MUCH improved upon. The Developer Preview is too unstable to use every day, but maybe I will check out the WebKit nightlies instead.

File under "Hmmm": Best Buy website down {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 14th 2008 1:49AM Best Buy just did a huge rebranding, I'm not sure if they're rolling it out yet, but perhaps they are updating the site with the new identity?

"Why did you leave your old job?"

"Don't ask."

The bluebird of happiness {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 25th 2008 8:41PM Except for the part where you missed the whole point, you're absolutely correct.

The problem is not that people are using the Twitter logo to reference Twitter, nor is the problem that people are butchering the Twitter logo.

The problem is that people are using the Twitterrific logo (an application developed by a third party with no relation to Twitter) to reference Twitter.

It's like using the McDonald's logo to reference hamburgers in general - I'm certain McDonald's would get very upset.

Line Rider coming to iPhone {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 3rd 2008 7:38PM FlyingRider was available in the App Store very very briefly, not to Jailbreakers.

Good to hear the official LineRider is coming though.

PwnageTool 2.0.3 {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 26th 2008 12:47AM I have had no trouble with passwords since updating. Everything went very smoothly, however I'm still having trouble with Winterboard not allowing the iPhone to boot properly [iTunes sees it, and I can SSH into it, but it doesn't boot into the home screen, it just sits at the silver apple forever. Deleting Winterboard.app via SSH solves the problem]

iPhone experiencing GPS problems after 2.0.1 update? {Engadget}

Aug 11th 2008 7:35PM Mine has been working perfectly since I bought it last week.

It finds the location VERY quickly outside. Inside it has quite a bit more trouble, but I guess that's to be expected. As soon as you go near a window it seems to sort it self out, and the second you step outside it figures out what's going on.

It gets the general area really quickly, then takes about 5-10 seconds depending on the reception to narrow it down.

The maps load quickly enough over the 3G network to keep up whilst driving, including the Hybrid/Satellite photos. All in all it's a very pleasant experience [except for the lack of turn by turn directions, which is f'n annoying]

Haven't heard any complaints on the forums at MTAU or Whirlpool [both in Australia], so maybe it's a US problem?
