I think Nokia has a winner in their hands. Maybe not in the US (surprise, surprise) but most definitely elsewhere.

Hardware is pretty solid Nokia and software seems to be above average. But it is the price makes me update my old phone with an unlocked version of this.

And I dare to disagree with Mr. Fusion above, I think the 5800 looks pretty decent too!
Nokia - connecting people, disconnecting families.

Which is evident now since when daddy loses his job, wife seeks a new man.
Ah, you missed my point. I know that iPhone has sold 13 million units in total after its release last year. Just saying that this specific last years model from Nokia has sold more than the iPhone. This is not a competition between the models or firms, since Apple is a great niche producer while Nokia has gone for the mass market and controls 39% of the whole market.

Just saying that I haven't heard any praise for N95 sales figures from engadget, in fact, I haven't heard anything constructive regarding Nokia. Yep, maybe I shouldn't except fair treatment for all.
Has Engadget ever heard of a company called Nokia? It's N95 handset has sold 10++ million units. Unfortunately that model doesn't have a logo of a fruit in it.
Able to use on your Nokia and your pc's. What else would you need? At least my mom, has different taste than I so I don't need to transfer my music to her 512mb Samsung mp3-player.
How long will the spotlight be on the fruit because of their mediocre update of their notebooks? Indefinitely?

Too bad the updates leave me very very dissatisfied. That glass surface, not enough connectors, MB is still very heavy. A lot heavier than my over three years old 13,3 inch Sony Vaio...
Can't wait to get one, firstly need to make sure my olp iPod 5th gen is playable on that thing :-)
I do care, and maybe you should consider too. Or not, up to you.
Well Apple takes currency fluctuations into account (when they benefit from them like every other company), and last time I checked £ had depriciated 13% against the $ in a month. So go figure.
What a let down with the "new" iPod classic...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
