No it doesn't. Mechanical storage has it's place, as do SSDs. Hybrid storage is the future. Spinning disks for mass storage and flash as cache for frequently accessed data and writes. With appropriate caching, most users wouldn't notice any difference in performance between 100% flash and 10% flash as long as you've got the correct 10%.
@John Burke,

The locked/unlocked status is determined by the IMEI of the phone (at least, right now anyway). My assumption is that some numbers are flagged as "unlocked", some for "lock to any carrier on activate", and some for "only activate to certain carriers and then lock". This is probably a case of the second or third.

For example, phones sold through AT&T (or at apple stores in the US) can only be activated with an AT&T SIM and are locked immediately after being activated.

I, on the other hand, have a completely unlocked phone that stayed unlocked after I added my AT&T SIM (the only SIM that has ever been in the phone) and activated, In fact, it even gave me a nice "your phone is now unlocked" message when it was activated in iTunes.
Not really all that interesting. 14.7MP out of a 1/1.7" sensor is too much if you value shots over 100 or 200 ISO.
That's the same thing I was thinking. It occurred to me though that if you had something like the 85mm f/1.2L on there then you wouldn't be able to see the "Mark IV" badge (and that's whole point of the press shot).
@Tacitus,

Unless they need a card that actually performs well and doesn't randomly fail. I'd rather spend $5-6/GB for quality flash and have it work every time than $2/GB for flash that stops working in half a year and corrupts everything on it when it goes.
The hell... I was all ready to buy this until I saw that it uses the SMP8635. Why release a player with that old chip when the competition is moving to the much more capable 864x?
Blackberry Bold, score. That's two high-radiation phones in a row for me (Motorola V600 previously).
Got here quicker than expected, was just delivered 10 minutes ago. Box is about 20% smaller than the one for the 2408WFP which is nice since the 2408WFP box wouldn't fit in the trunk of my car...
Just ordered through my Dell rep. Should be here in a week or so.

Hopefully this is a lot better than my 2408WFP. I hate doing photo work on that thing because I end up having to look at it from a half-dozen different angles to make sure that everything in the shadows and highlights is the way I want it, otherwise I get surprises on printing (and yes, my screen is calibrated).
Why the hell does a keyboard need to run Windows? If you want an all-in-one system with a miserably-slow processor and a small screen why not just get a netbook?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
