You can pick up the Panasonic VIERA TC-50U1 for $1,168 these days Link: http://www.techdealdigger.com/pr/cheap-panasonic-viera-tc-p50u1-50-1080p-plasma-tv-deals/1967

The TV has gotten fantastic reviews. You'll have some money left over for a blu-ray player.
By the way, I just saw that several of the Xbox 360 SKUs (including the Resident Evil 5 Bundle) are on sale over at Dell for $50 off the normal price. http://www.techdealdigger.com/deals/save-50-on-xbox-360-consoles-at-dell-home/8359
Be sure to check the deal sites like SlickDeals and TechDealDigger that post links to deep discounts on TVs and other electronics. I use the latter and picked up the highly-rated Panasonic 42 TH-42PZ85U 1080p Plasma for $865 including free shipping before Christmas. At the time, that was $150 cheaper than the prices showing on the Price Comparison engines. http://www.techdealdigger.com

Stay away from BestBuy, though, generally their prices are 10-20% (sometimes more) above the prices I've seen on the deal sites.
I hope they aren't capping the number of streams. I just ordered a refurb TiVo HD DVR so I can ditch my cable DVR and Roku player and have my DVR and Netflix streaming all in one box.
The TH-50PZ85U is $1,299 at Fry's. The 46PZ80U is $999. You can find more Viera deals here: http://www.techdealdigger.com/search/viera-deals-sales
I love my Panasonic Viera 42PZ85U. I have both LCD and Plasma and my Viera blows away the LCD models. The blacks are nice, but the blurring/judder on my LCD during sporting events is really noticeable. On a plasma, when a camera pans the court or field, you see smooth, crisp motion, not a bunch of blocky images.
I'll second the Denon AVR-1909. It has 4 HDMI inputs, upconversion, has gotten great reviews. I saw it a while ago on a sale posted through TechDealDigger for just $449. Here it is - http://www.techdealdigger.com/deals/denon-avr1909-449-at-sixth-ave-electronics/5635
Very nice, although at more than 2x the cost of the Canon Vixia HG10 (available for $499 - http://www.techdealdigger.com/deals/canon-vixia-hg10-499-at-bh-photo/5220), this is really for the serious enthusiast.
The Vixia HG10 is a great little High Definition, Hard Drive Camcorder. You can get it for $499 - http://www.techdealdigger.com/deals/canon-vixia-hg10-499-at-bh-photo/5220
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
