I want a strap-on steering wheel remote to go with this damnit! As it stands it takes up the dock connector so you can't even add your own.
I agree. I have 2 15 year old clunkers, but because they are rated at 21 mpg they don't qualify even though it has been years since they were anywhere near that fuel efficient. If I qualified, I would be able to get a car that is at least 50 percent more efficient.

I agree with the +10mpg idea. If your new purchase is rated at at least 10 mpg more than what your trade in is, then you qualify.

It needs a strap-on steering wheel remote! How the hell are we supposed to control audio playback without fiddling with the screen? A strap on remote (like the one Scoche makes) with play/pause, skip forward, skip back, shuffle, and multi-function call answer/activate Voice Control is desperately needed. I have tried countless ways to get a system that allows for hands free calling, steering wheel controls and a connection to my stereo with a single cable going into my ipod (none of this having to charge a bluetooth speaker or headset crap, besides bluetooth sucks) yet I haven't found it yet. This dock does everything I need it to PLUS GPS except for the remote (btw, my car doesn't have built-in controls)! It seems like a glaring omission to me.
It's mine biznitch's
I'm not trying to be a fanboy here, but if you add the cost of this plus a copy of OSX, plus iLife (which is included with all macs), plus the price of a new PC, wouldn't it be just as much if not more than a brand new iMac or Macbook (granted, the cheaper models)?

This seems like it will only appeal to people with an existing, relatively new, PC who like to really tinker and hack. A decent size population, granted, but not one big enough for apple to worry about cutting into its bottom line.

I'm with the first guy, if you want to experiment with other OS's without buying a new machine try Ubuntu, its cheaper and easier than trying to shoehorn Mac OS onto a PC. Otherwise, just get a real mac.
Electric is the only way to fly. It gets the consumer out of the business of having to purchase, and be locked into, fuel. Rather, they merely buy energy, and that energy can be made any number of ways (wind, coal, solar, nuclear, hamster wheel, dolphin sex). Electricity demands may rise, but there are many different ways to make electricity and a company can switch to a different energy production method a lot easier than 100 million consumers can switch.

Not to mention the whole infrastructure thing.
You read my mind AJ. All it needs is a sub and I'll be happy. I like the idea of just pluging in my Tivo, Apple TV, Blu-ray, and video game systems directly into my tv and not having to think about adding an audio mixer with all of its speaker wire into the equation.

Just think of how much easier it will make setting up a Harmony Remote.
So can I give my old iPhone to my mom, who is on my FamilyTalk plan? That would be nice. She has a Samsung and I don't see why she can't just put her ATT SIM into it and maybe re-activate it.

Blackberry might be great and all if your only doing phone and email, but if you want to watch video or listen to music? I gotta go with the iPhone.

As for the guy that said it looks like he would break it: I have found it to be surprisingly durable. I have dropped it several times, even on concrete, and the only parts that have scratched are the mirrored apple logo and the chrome trim, and they are barely noticeable.
Time Capsule has an "Archive to external storage" button for copying your data to an external HD for offsite backup. It takes a few minutes, but I just set it to run on monday and then swap out the USB HD every friday.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
