tear it down, throw it in the trash....

No firewire? Mini-display port you need a 100 dollar cable to use? 4 gigs of ram? I dont care what the size of the DVD drive is, Apple should make Blu-ray fit at these prices. What did they give us? A new graphic card? a stronger case? Can i get a coffee cup holder and cigarette lighter as well?

Lets compare the 17in Pro:

17in Mac Book pro:
processor: 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
hard drive: 320 gig @ 5400
display: 1920x1200 LED
DVD drive: CD/DVD burner
ram: 4 gigs
graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB
ports: NO HDMI, mini display port
PRICE; $2,800

16.4in Sony FW:
processor: 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
hard drive: 320 gig @ 7200
display: 1920x1080 LED
DVD drive: Blu-ray Disc Read and Write Drive
ram: 4 gigs
graphic card: ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3650 with 512MB vRAM
ports: HDMI out, DVI
weight:
PRICE: $1900

Other then the NVIDIA card, all advantages go to to the $900 LESS Sony FW.
You can take the 900 dollars savings and buy another laptop, how about a 13in Mac Book?

defecating on the ol' toilet in the morning will never be the same once i get my hands on these suckers. goodbye newspaper forever...
elegant and regal? So is my new golden-bronzed toilet, but we all know how i treat that.
These just don't appeal to me. Guess i am just not an Elite Tablet kinda guy.
I already have an old 5D. What you say is true in a way. That was not the point. It all comes down to silly marketing. Leaving features out to push people to spend an extra grand+ for something that should be standard. Canon makes a great product, i think the company should take the first step in full frame on mid range SLRs thats all.
Oh really a fingerprint reader? Well i'll be damned. I just bought 700 of them. It cost me 2.8 million plus shipping and handling. I am going to resell them all on ebay for 900 dollars each, since thats all these pieces modern consumer whore marketing s**t are worth.

Fujitsu makes hard drives? I like egg salad...
1.6x conversion factor, 1.6x conversion factor!

Why cant Cannon make a body thats priced in the range of 40/50D that does not mess up the focal length of my wide angle lenses? If someone drops 2,000 dollars on a Canon 14mm f/2.8L to take WIDE ANGLE shots and loses half of what they just paid for, what is the point!? Stop adding more megpaixels, lame preset modes, whacked out live view features and silly giant LCD screens. Just give me a mid range $1500ish camera without a conversion factor. Basically this body makes your spiffy new 14mm lens a 22.4mm lens (1.6 x 14). Which is all fine and happy and quite nice for telephoto, a little extra zoom never hurts. But for standard lenses and wide angle this is pure unaltered BS.
Uhhh.... Sooooonnny. Its not big enough! 18.4? Forget that! I heard Dell countering with a 22in and then what? OHHH! Rolling on 24's? I am waiting for a 105in laptop that comes with its own custom VW GTI. That way the laptop can be affixed to the roof on a ski rack. When i surf the internet everyone can see how unique and special i am simply by looking at the roof of my car. I have a MySpace, i am important! Ok seriously, this thing is nice looking and if i had an extra 1,700 i would drop cash-money and by a few of these off the back of a truck.
i cant keep up with you swift fella's. I am wrong, you are right. I'm melting like a Compaq running Windows ME.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
