@kesando

I would hope that inexpensive service (comparatively) and a fast data network would sell Sprint by itself, butt that's not as sexy. Plus, a Pixi lacking WiFi puts a check over to Verizon.

Hopefully Sprint will benefit from some upgrades Palm is going to throw out there and nothing is exclusive to any carrier.
@LoganSmith

No - a monopoly would be if Verizon bought AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile and then charged you $1/kb of data.

Offering a wide selection of phones would just be referred to as "listening to the consumer" or "smart".
@Ops By "lost the race" you mean "designed a more fuel efficient jet in response to overwhelming demand to lower airline costs", then yes. You are correct.

AirBus may have their floating airfortress (perhaps they are moving in a Final Fantasy direction), but the smaller, more fuel efficient jets that can fly further is a win. They are having trouble with production, but it looks like they are figuring it out.

These jets will likely be a new standard in air travel.
Google has released their own version of GPS navigation, for the fantastic price of free (as long as it is embedded (at this point) in your smartphone). Hence, you no longer need that $600 GPS device when you can get it for free. Watch the stock tumble.

And yes, I just dropped a double parenthetical. Deal with it.
I ain't sayin' she's a golddigger, but she ain't messin' with no broke
Does anyone win these things? I hope I do.....
Perhaps the best recession antidote ever? Yes.
All of my friends use Google talk since just about everyone I know has a Gmail account. It isn't elegant, but it gets the job done.

I don't know anyone on MSN and I haven't used AIM since college...
I've been wanting to pick one of these up but lacking the funds! HP FTW.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
