Unfortunately the worst seems to be confirmed. German daily newspaper BILD report on their online issue (http://www.bild.de/BILD/regional/frankfurt/aktuell/2009/12/22/banker-sohn-devon-hollahan/tot-im-rhein-gefunden.html ) that Devon has been found.
The police states that he washed ashore on the banks of the River Rhine in Koblenz a few days ago but they held back the information to confirm DNA first.
The river he supposed had fallen into (Main) leads into the Rhine. The distance on the river is about 80 miles.

My sympathies are with his family.

Stories like these always make me think about how often the TSA agents put on fresh rubber gloves/disinfect the ones they wear.
Sure, they need to protect themselves but who protects us from the 'goodies' they transfer from one bag to another or from one person to the next.

In case of severe draining on the iPhone a recent firmware update might be the reason.
After the last one, I had charged my iPhone fully.
I unplugged it, set the alarm and put it on my nightstand, 6 hours later, half empty.
Normally, the icon won't even change, even with push mail and WIFI active.

Solution was a forced shut down.... holding both the top button and the home button till the phone restarts (do not let go when the 'slide to shut off' message appears).

While I survived several Karneval seasons in Germany (sorry, on some my memory has gaps), I haven't been to Cologne. Neither to Munich for the Octoberfest. Guess for the same reason, just to many people.
