Marc and Dexter: Ecko making iPhone-only slasher {Joystiq}

Jul 25th 2008 4:50PM Yes it matters. I dont want to wait a year to finish my story (game). Would you pay $2 to see the first 30 minutes of a movie, then 3 months later another $2 to see the next 30 mins? After a year you would of seen the whole movie for only $8.

The price is right, interested? I dont think so.

New Halo 3 content to be unveiled during PAX {Xbox 360 Fanboy}

Jul 24th 2008 11:24PM i dont agree with the OP, but I dont agree with downloadable maps either. I mean, there great in theory, but everytime I see one, I just hang my head in dissapointment on how it works with pc versions, in which you never pay for maps, and map editors are givin to the community for free. I mean I love playing new maps, especially user maps, I just wish people like microsoft designed their system more in check to support custom content then their pay for our content model.

Take doom XBLA for example. I just bought it, to relive my fav doom memories. and it was great. But that game would be so much better if we could make and play custom levels like we can with the pc version.

While im sure its lots of work to build and perfect these maps, and employees need to be paid, there are hundreds of people out there willing to do that sorta stuff for FREE, just because we love the game, or like doing it. But we are not givin the tools, so our only option for new content is to pay for it by the people who do have the tools to make it, but dont want to do so for free.

Geometry Wars 2 realigned for July 30, 800 points {Joystiq}

Jul 24th 2008 8:58PM Your right, lag would make it unplayable. However developers who know what their doing can design proper netcode so it wont lag. no online is just an excuse to make more money (they dont need to pay anyone to develop it when they know the game will sell just as well without it)

Holograms hoping to make HDTV look lame {Engadget HD}

Jul 22nd 2008 6:22PM but will it be flicker free? We have seen hologram technology in tons of futuristic movies and tv shows. Despite each future vision of supirior technology, their holograms always seem to flicker.

I wonder why people seem to think mankind will conqure intergalactic space travel and colonize thousands of planets before we can invent a stable 3d hologram :p

Jul 22nd 2008 3:12PM so whens this coming out? I was planing on buying a card for spore in september, but if this is coming in janurary or something, I may just buy a cheap $50 older card for spore, and wait the 4 or 5 months and buy a nice dX11 card for like $400. Currently running integrated graphics. Only good for watching HD movies, almost all games unplayable :(. Rest of my specs, very high to handle any game.

Microsoft makes Games For Windows Live free for all {Joystiq}

Jul 22nd 2008 3:08PM gaming PC to play anything on the market today if you build yourself - $800

Gaming pc to play anything on the market if you buy prebuilt from dell, sony, hp , etc etc - $2000+

Do yourself a favour and learn how to build a pc. Its not as difficult as it may seem. Knowing the insides of a car is much mroe confusing. Theres really only like 6 or 7 main parts to a PC, and putting them together is like connecting lego blocks. Just google around to learn. It should only take a few hours of reading, and you will save yourself Hundreds and hundreds of dollars, everytime you need a new PC.

Jul 22nd 2008 3:04PM steam is not GFWL. GFWL is not a distrbution system. Its a set of online interfaces and connectivity. GFWL brings the 360 features like voice chat, matchmaking and friends list unified across pc games, something that they really need. Now that its free, I cant see anything wrong with it. Charging the money was a bit rediculose to begin with, because on the pc, your free to do so much and get around using it.

Dont expect live to go free ont he xbox anytime soon. Theres millions of subscribers. I would love to stop having to pay $30 a year to play my xbox online, but I just dont see it happening at all. the 360 is closed, not open like a pc. We really cant create alternative servers or anything. Microsoft has us pinned against a wall, and their reaching into our pockets to get at our wallets. On the PC, theres no wall, so we can get away, so microsofts only choice is basically to make their service free.
