This is more powerful than the PSP Go and has better battery life.
I am with Josh. It's a picture. It's not his job to take the best shots that show the product as something other than what it is. This is what the product looks like, not a bunch of perfect press photos. It's his job to inform, not advertise.
I hope this reply wont got lost, but I think the picture isn't that bad. If you took a real-world picture of the iPod Touch's backing, it would look a hell of a lot worse than a few smudges placed on the screen. The Touch has those as well as an awful backing. For those of you saying Microsoft has terrible designs for their products, look again at the iPods. The aluminum backing is awfully annoying and is almost impossible to not get scratched immediately after purchasing it. I myself have a Touch and I am extremely disappointed in the software as well. Overall, looking forward to replacing it with this. I at first thought maybe I would wait for the new Touch announcement, but Apple wouldn't add anything in the Touch that isn't in the iPhone, meaning no Tegra and such. This means the Zune HD has no competition at all.
It's a screen.

And you're an idiot.
Very good point. How will we be able to download anything without an internet browser? This seems like a stupid call by the EU...
Yeah, you're getting a psp with a smaller screen and an ugly design. You're also being forced to spend large sums of money on memory cards and go through the most likely annoying process of transferring your UMD's into digital media. And this all saves you how much on the console? -70 dollars?
I wouldn't mind some horde mode...
Minus inflation, hardware costs, increased pricing for the writing. Also, royalties. That's like saying we could have had 10 thousand Tetris's...
@smak
The GDDR3 memory is shared! The processors have only a 1MB shared L2 cache. The Overall System Floating-Point Performance is only 1 Tflop, less than the average video card for under 200 dollars.
If only there were pc games on sale...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
