I bought a PS2 for $99 last year for the first time. Bought a ton of new games for less than $10. Can't wait till the PS3 drops to $99, oh wait I can.
The idea of a download only console seems like the inevitable future for all systems. It's just the idea of purchasing deleted games that bug me. Hopefully their is a solution for accidental erasures. It's not like game consoles never have defects.
The proper question would be "why are there so many MP3 players, or smartphones, or HDTVs." There are only a few ereaders out there, yet an immeasurable amount of any other device.
You do understand that 10 of this disks equals 10 GB. You know 32 GB SD cards exists. You do the math.

"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
