How about a 50-100 horsepower electric motorcycle? Or an fully electric car that handles -30*C winter weather. The U3-X and Asimo are cute... but are no more useful to us than Westinghouse's cigarette smoking 'Electro'.

For tween girls? Only people I've seen using DS's (in person) are 30 to 60+ year olds playing Brain Age. The two semi retired old guys I work with have them to kill time. Kids seem to have iPod Touch's or PSPs.
