I would guess that one will be paying 700+ bucks (well, if converted to USD) for this phone.
Reason is that there is that given that this is in Japan, there is a 99% chance that you won't get any subsidies as neither the Japanese carriers nor consumers care for them.

Jun 12th 2009 4:40PM Yes, very huge overload :p As it seems traffic from half a dozen major sites is quite dangerous if you're not prepared as I was. This morning just had the caching temporarily disabled as it was interfering some another function, and that is when TUAW struck :D - but all is back and working now :)

See, the real kicker is this... in most other civilized countries, when you pay 500+ dollars for some awesome new phone, at least you then get a relatively cheap service plan. But the problem is that you paid 600 bucks for the original iPhone, only to be bent over and ****ed by Cingular/AT&T the following month and for 23 month following that.
I would GLADLY pay 6-7, even 8 hundred dollars for an iPhone 3G S, IF, AT&T wouldn't be such cunts with their data plans. If I could get an unsubsidized phone and then pay 20 bucks a month I would run out and get a new iPhone right now, but as long as I have to pay 300 bucks for it, only to then pay another hundred per month for even the cheapest of plans, well, to put it bluntly, AT&T can go fuck themselves and their shitty network.
