How about we actually list what the government could do
1) Reduce Canadian ownership laws (currently 50% of a telecom must be Canadian)
2) Subsidise new entrants to the marketplace (there are 3 new companies expected within the year)
3) Take control of the Bell and Rogers infrastructure and allow them a certain % of it's use.

You can't just demand the government take control of an industry because they charge you too much for services

My Aspire One 150 has a multi-touch trackpad, I found it to be quite annoying and largely unnecessary. I'm not sure if this is just an unnoticed feature or they've improved the whole unit for this new model, but I wanted to point out that it's somewhat of an old feature.

What other industry would have as good analytics to determine usage rates? Not only can they measure the contracts, but they can also measure the throughput through their own servers.

How is this worth mentioning? Apple added a standard smartphone feature

They added 3G (feature that should have been on the first one) and sold the phone in more markets.

The real innovation is that they can profit from every piece of software due to the closed environment. It's great for Apple, carriers and software developers, but a step down for the customer. I certainly prefer the WinMo system. I can transfer cab files to my phone, or download them directly from the website, without paying extra to Apple or the carrier. Were I to use an app store, I would have a great one-stop place to get software, but I would be paying more for it and I don't see that as a revolution more than a poke in the eye.

I'm sure Hockey Night in Canada is not hurting for money, advertising time on HNIC broadcasts is the most expensive air time in Canada. Keeping the demand for HNIC broadcasts high will continue to generate revenue for the CBC.

Also, in Canada this is a public good
