Not that I'd do it, but camping out seem fun, so why not. Perhaps we English just like a good queue???

However, I just cannot see why you'd want to do so for the 3G iPhone. Yes, I'll be getting one, but the original version with new software is just the same. I cannot get excited over 3G and GPS. It's the V2 software (and download store in particular) that I *do* find exciting news. I'll upgrade to the 3G version in a couple of months... probably.
@ Onetruebill

"How did YOU get one??"

Bought it second hand :)

Ps, same time tonight?
"To me the notion that a street legal car could be exempted from airbags was absurd."

Certainly allowed here in Europe. My perfectly street legal TVR sportscar has no airbags, or ABS, or traction control. TVR's answer when asked why not? "We make our cars for heterosexuals" ;)
@Ben - hahaha. Couldn't agree more!

(on topic, most household insurance will cover your iPhone without additional costs)
'Activated' not 'sold'.

I don't know anyone (me included) who managed to activate on Friday night due to problems with the Carphonewarehouse chip-and-pin system, problems with the O2 credit system and problems connecting to the iTunes store.

I finally got activated at 11pm Saturday.
Ben - perhaps there will be more of a buzz tomorrow as its Leopard day. Don't let my miserable ramblings put you off - enjoy the show.
Just got back - agree totally with No. 7. Awful show.

No Apple. No Leopard. No iPhone (demos). Very poor turnout indeed. I was in and out within 15 minutes! Any Apple store has far more to do and see.

Oh and then our wonderful (sic) Underground came to a grinding halt so I ended up spending longer waiting on cold platforms than I did at the show :(

Even with a free ticket, I felt I had wasted my money!
I have a My Book 320Gb, which works OK with my Mac. However, two points are worth noting:

1. Don't bother spending more to get the one with Firewire. I did, and due to an 'issue' it actually works slower over firewire than via USB2. Western Digital are still to offer a fix.

2. It is very VERY noisy. Far louder than my iMac and so loud that I now use it for backups only rather than it being on all the time, as originally envisaged.

WD support (in the UK at least) are non-existent. I wouldn't buy WD again.
Please Mr TiVo, can we have this feature on our (poorly neglected) series 1 UK TiVo's???
If Miglia are indeed going to release their own DVR software, then that's great news. I don't find EyeTV particularly good. There are huge functionality issues that just don't seem to be being addressed. Competition in this sector of the market is good.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
