@ECVOICE It's the "makes the National Enquirer look good, while delivering a big blob of right wing nuttiness" Post, not the Times. And the Wall Street Journal material being offered here is also the lunatic ravings of Murdoch's most vile editorial staff.

In other words, Sony gets an exclusive on the folks who watch Glenn Beck for their primary source of news but need an extra infusion away from home.
The interface should not involve the eInk screen. There's plenty of room to handle everything neatly on the lower screen, and only update the eInk when it comes time to read a page.
Just wondering where you've heard someone claim to be a liberal and say that the only thing Mexico can make is a tortilla.

That sounds a lot more like language from Lou Dobbs or Glenn Beck.
Since my nook is still "shipping on Nov. 30," this is starting to look better.
Dang it. I keep signing up for EVs that keep avoiding the Midwest. Time and time again the sales are restricted to the coasts.

I think I'll go buy me a Hummer and act like the stereotype of Midwesterner that the car companies seem to expect. It's awfully hard to show support for vehicles if they won't sell you one.
Hate to say it, considering the prevailing opinion, but I like it.

I'm not sure why the response to anything different is always "why can't they make it look like a regular car." I'm more than ready to try anything that doesn't look like what we've been driving since '72.
And when do we get it in the US?
There are two things really limiting the success of the Smart -- it's MPG is not good enough to convince people to move to a car that size, and the build quality is shockingly poor. I've tried out a Smart twice, and the clunking, thumping automatic gearbox might have been lifted from a '73 Pinto. Moving along in traffic around 30MPH seems to be the magic spot at which the transmission keeps popping up, popping down, popping up, popping down, each time giving you a neck-snapping clunk-pause-jump.

Give me a car that size that cracks 50MPG and isn't so unpleasant to drive, and I'll be first in line.
Nintendo's Paperboy? Paperboy was an Atari game, whippersnapper.
I think the anime face was always restricted to the 3. And since the 2 is a couple of years behind the latest 3, the big happy grin might catch up with it yet -- though hopefully not before we get a crack at this version.

I've been driving an old Protege5 for many years now, and still love the car's tight handling and pocket-BMW feel. If the 2 arrives on schedule, it's high on my list of potential replacements -- though I have to admit the smiling face of the 3 is growing on me, and I might grab one of those if the stop-start option reaches our shores.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
