Yay, another crappy WinMo phone with piss-poor touch response that needs to be rebooted once a day.
The Harmony 890 has potential as it's a programmable Z-wave to IR device. It can also control other Z-Wave devices like lights, etc. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this device as we have had a return/failure rate of greater than 75% (of about 30 remotes installed) within the first year of service. The quality control on these absolutely sucks.

The URC Home Theater master is an absolute bitch to program and it's harder for the customer to use, but I have never, ever had one fail even after 5+ years of being beat to death. Harmony needs to get with the program.
Real reason: Everyone found out this bitch doesn't even know how to use a toaster, let alone advise on national cybersecurity matters.
Yes, because everyone gives a flying fuck about what movie you are watching with your kids or that you found a peanut in your morning crap. I can't believe anyone's sense of self-importance is this out of control.
Amazon's got an Optoma EP1691 720p projector for just under $700 that probably spanks this thing in every way. So yeah, definitely not a worthwhile project.
It's only a potentially good deal if your time is worthless... I'd rather buy (and did, actually) something engineered and tested by a company that churns these out by the thousands instead of wasting hours upon hours for mediocre results.
Yes, it's only a matter of time before you'll have to buy a new device. Apple TV's processor does not have the horsepower required to handle 1080p video.
Call me when your "vastly superior" Apple TV can play 1080p mkv files.
The maximum bandwidth for a native Blu-Ray disc is about 54 megabits/sec. I don't see the limited bandwidth of this particular device being an issue for video playback.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"My father-in-law is heading back to school in the spring and wants a laptop for Christmas. The only catch is their budget is around $400 and he does not want a netbook. He's not very "tech savvy" at all and doesn't need a hoss of a machine (not that $400 could get you one). We would like to get it for him as soon as possible and would love some input."
