I'm certain "the most fun iPod ever" would be the phrase I'd use to describe said device, if I happened to have one....

Regarding a tendency in readers to see "funniest" in the promo ad: look no further than the screen of the featured iPod – rather "clowny" if you ask me.

Hmmn. Perhaps "goofiest" is really what the ad says.
unlocked + Canada = ecstatic...
If you want something that looks different and, like, total styleeee, check out Artizan Hemp Shoulder bags (http://www.artisangear.com/omni.html). I've had two over the last ten years (the first I accidentally 'misplaced' during a night out) to haul all manner of personal electronic devices and small notebooks (of the pen and paper type), etc. Doesn't offer much in terms of padding, but I keep my devices in their own protective gear anyway. Many pockets, three zippered enclosures, your choice of colours, and cheap, too.
Ummn, I think I'll wait until I can hold one before deciding how slippery it is.
I actually like the Toyota best of the three... must be my love of suppositories.
This type of movement-restricting suit has been used before: engineers at Ford developing the Focus used such movement-restricting apparatus to guide them in designing cars to maximize the ease of getting in and out of cars that give the afore-named vehicle it's geriatric advantage over competitors for a few years now....
"Do you think this new video game makes my head look fat?"
Wow -- thanks Rod (and company) for a fascinating lesson in lexical semantics. I'm sure that if we could all split these hairs a little finer, we could easily solve the world's problems. Or maybe find a cure for cancer. Or maybe invent a better laser / dual-scrollwheel / mouse-trap....
I feel compelled to point out that the technology behind the segway was intially developed as a means of transport for the disabled. The original protoype for the segway was a device nicknamed 'fred upstairs' (after fred astaire) which, in addition to it's ability to gyroscopically balance like the segway, had the ability to climb stairs, by means of wheels mounted on top of one another in rotation to hoist the user up stairs. The subsequent planned consumer version of the device was code named 'ginger' as in 'fred and ginger' -- get it? -- and eventually became what we know and love as the segway.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
