I bought this phone the day it came out and am quite happy I did.
The phone was never targeted at a preteen audience, ever. The hiptop was one of the first mainstreem QWERTY phones with an integrated push E-Mail client, it was targeted at people who wanted a full desktop communicator at a somewhat low price. The Hiptop is also targeted at the deaf community, since it is still (accept for some reason it isnt available on the LX09) a phone that natively supports I77 relay service.

There are only a few things and they are relatively minor.
: WiFi
: improved browser functionality
: Facebook or Skype as new IM clients.
: Improved push notifications through Facebook and Twitter, make them identical to the myspace app

The reason why I bought a sidekickLX 09 instead of an iPhone is that i needed a phone that had powerful communication capabilities without being so data centric. Im a heavy AIM user and a heavy texter, and the reason why the sidekick is perfect for me is that it has the best, and largest, keyboard of any phone on the market, and thats true of any sidekick model since the SK3. The danger buttons really do allow for instant jumping around the interface which I have yet to see on any phone. While im talking to 4 people at once and consistantly typing, either on AIM or SMS, Jump Cancel at the same time allows me to see the unread message and start replying while the other message is being sent. If I need to instantly go somewhere else, i just press Jump and whatever letter i need. Its a great multitasking communication phone.
I just picked up this phone today as an upgrade from my VZW LG EnV.
The reason why i picked up this phone is that the sidekicks have always been the premiere messaging kings. I can jump around in a matter of seconds on this phone than i ever could with an iPhone.

i prefer my phone to me a pro messenger first and a smartphone second. Thats why i picked up the Sidekick LX 2009. That and the 3G and GPS won me over.

EMPRESS or bust.
although to be fair this is going to have a very different feel than IIDX
but it is still reminiscent of the old school original beatmania series (lol sup 1997-2002) I'm welcoming the new take on music, but seriously, konami will sue.
AS A STARBUCKS PARTNER!!! The reasons why we had to charge for WiFi is because we were one of the first to actually have it available in public places, so we were stuck with t-mobiles contract. Thanks to uncle howie being our president again (Jim Donald sucked, a lot) he is trying to work out a way to get this to our customers now.

Dont try asking a barista about the information, the only thing that was released internally is the fact that this is happening. There is no release date, However Starbucks's spring season starts february 26th (with the Honey Latte)

Im happy to see that finally something is happening for free WiFi, it took too damn long.
I'm going to listen to Daft Punk, prototypes, nirvana, white stripes, a ton of beck, the beatmania IIDX soundtracks, the overhead champion soundtrack, BeForU, Super*Best trance and Super Eurobeat volumes 160 through 178.
Konami is famous for that type of thing. Ever play earlier versions of DanceDanceRevolution? Crack out 3rd mix and 4th mix and watch the backgrounds, just saying.
I use the apple wireless keyboard, its perfect for my needs. For a mouse I use the logictec MX1000. It is quite possibly the most comfortable mouse, ever.
Have you seen AllTel's MOTOKRZR commercial? It is almost the exact same as the commercial for the american Chocolate (although the chocolate in the USA is a joke).
DirecTV compressed MPEG4 all the way.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
