Exactly! If you can't have some wheel-spinning fun while charging off the line, what is the point of 400+ hp?!

I think the traction control is there to keep you from melting the tires, or getting sideways during your redline launch and losing control.
What's wrong with a little extra wheel spin, in the spirit of fun? Who cares if 0-60 is 4.5 vs. 4.3 seconds -- the point is to show off your muscle car while cruising around town. Impress your friends, impress the girls. That's what muscle cars are about!

Find me a Beach Boys song that talks about traction control. No way... try this:
"I get pushed out of shape and it's hard to steer... When I get rubber in all four gears"

Now that's the lifestyle I'm talking about!

I hope GM never kills the Corvette.
Is PNG format available too? I hate fuzzy screenshots.
A note to Sean Cooper, the author: Why do you refer to the 4 buttons as "softkeys"? Softkeys are buttons whose purpose changes under control of the software. The 4 buttons at the bottom (Call, End, Menu, Escape) are HARDKEYS. They have 1 purpose at all times.

If you don't believe me, read the Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soft_key
Our engineering team did a joint project with a team in Japan. We spoke no Japanese, they spoke a small amount of English.

This would have been VERY useful.

Of course the automatic translations are sometimes more funny than useful.
Maybe if we just slander a make of car... I seem to encounter more rude BMW/Mercedes/Lexus drivers than any other make. Part of the rich and famous lifestyle?
They need to add a field for vehicle make -- I bet 75% of the rude motorists are driving BMWs, Mercedes, and Lexus. (all silver)

Also a checkbox for "talking on cell phone at time of infraction?"
This article left me confused. Can anyone summarize?

The Insight is $19k and the Prius is $20.5k? So what's the news here -- people were expecting the Insight to be more than $1.5k less than the Prius? And it isn't? Yawn.
My thoughts exactly. Obviously they're not feeling enough pain to make them try Firefox, so ignore them.
I'm also not getting automatic underlining of the entire hyperlink... could be hard to click. Seems like a half-baked idea... please fix and try again.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
