Seems to me that Nick used the strike-thru HTML tag to make a tongue-in-cheek poke at Sony's web site, not to abusively put down the console we know (well, hope for) and love. I won't add to what Mr. Grant said here, but as long as Sony answers our save-transfer questions by launch, I'll be a happy man. Now about all the saves on my PS2 hard drive...
"Dunno about you, but I'm getting sick of driving at night in the NFS series. Bring back Hot Pursuit!"

Yeah, I was a big fan of NFS:HP2 on the PS2, Galley, and would love to see it back on the PS3. (The Xbox port of that iteration in the series was, how you say... lacking; just read the reviews to see what I mean.) But didn't they bring back daylight (or some filtered form of it) in Most Wanted?
So this is what replaced Frame City Killer in Namco Bandai's lineup? Interesting...

Yeah, Major Nelson got some quality time in with the Forza guys (including Che Chou, their new community manager) in his double-sized blogcast this past week. Check it out below:

I believe they mention how Microsoft Game Studios has it set up so there can be a Forza one year, followed by a PGR the next, then a newer Forza the third year, and so forth. Technology sharing should mean a lot of incremental improvements for both series with each year's release.
"Yo Dan... YEP!! You can count on exclusive access to Guitar Hero II!! We hold competitions for prizes at all of our shows!"

Now that's what I like to hear... I guess I better start practicing then. =) Thanks, Tommy!
"They were supposed to have a show in Toronto, but it got cancelled."

Well that's the funny thing, Tom: they're advertising a September 1st tour date in Toronto at the Massey Hall on the official VGL web site (to be followed by another Hollywood Bowl show on September 21st). Perhaps you could give 'em another chance?

How about the "I'll still buy it... begrudgingly" option where I don't really need Blu-ray, but will still lay down the cash to Ken Kutaragi for it (since it comes with the PS3)? I guess it didn't really affect my decision in that case... but still! =) I'd love the option to go without -- if it meant a cheaper console.
"I was under the impression that Infinity Ward wasn't working on Call of Duty 3, but that Treyarch (COD: Big Red 1) was working on it. Infinity Ward was supposedly working on a modern combat type Call of Duty that had to do with the war on terror. I could be wrong of course, but I'm pretty sure I read this somewhere..."

Yup, SickNic, at last count, Treyarch was working on CoD3, while IW was off doing its secretive CoD project somewhere else. Treyarch is in fact fingered in the story linked in today's post, so unless EGM goofed, we're probably at fault here:

More on the Treyarch/IW division of labor and the Modern Warfare scuttlebutt on our original CoD3 confirmation post, linked below:

"Does that mean you put away the fire extinguisher?

**prepares cannon**"

For now... ;) The funny thing was that it ended up not being needed -- except for that guy spamming different posts for hardware tech support. At any rate, if we can talk through our differences, so much so the better, I say.
"Andir,

Was that addressed to him or me?"

Posts sometimes take a little explaining, I guess. =) But, yeah... I mistakenly addressed Andir initially in one of my last comments, then noticed my mistake and changed it to Chris about 5-10 minutes later. Sorry you got the cached version!

In a strange way, I feel almost pleased with how this discussion turned out, when I initially feared a flame war of mythic moderating proportions. After this trial by fire, I feel like we've even forged some kind of forum-based bond derived of mutual respect despite disagreement. Sounds kinda cheesy, I know, but I'm kinda glad we exchanged comments back and forth. Just wanted to share.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for the best geotagging camera currently available. The most important feature for me is the accuracy of the GPS module, so any hard specs on satellite receiver would be really useful. Thanks for your time!"
