This would be great since my speakers just broke!
I shop at Amazon.com quite a bit
I love comments by people like wslcrew who, by their comments, show their lack of racing knowledge. Do you have any idea the amount of focus and concentration it takes to drive 500 miles at 200+ miles an hour? Obviously not. Here's an idea...go try it in a simulation like Indy Car series 2005 (last 500 simulation published to date). Turn off all the driving aids and set it for full race distance. I guarantee you wouldn't last 2 laps. Now imagine it in real life...and then imagine yourself recuperating at the hospital in Indy because that's where you'll be. While your there, you could read up on the rich tradition of the 500. I grew up 50 miles from the track and believe me there's nothing like seeing and hearing 33 Indy cars come around the 4th turn onto the straightaway towards the strip of bricks at full throttle. Even if you did, I'm not sure you could even appreciate the magnitude of the moment. These are some of the bravest, skilled drivers on the face of the planet barring F1 drivers. So before you go making ridiculous comments about things you know nothing of, try thinking of what it must REALLY be like. Junior.
Personally, I think this would be a great camera for snapshots wich is what it is intended for. I think the reviewer has too high of expectations for a subcompact camera and is a bit too critical of it's performance. I mean really, where are you going to find a camera that small with all those features. I for one don't mind sacrificing a little image quality for the convenience of being able to carry a high zoom camera in my shirt pocket. Try doing that with a dslr and a long lens. As far as noise is concerned, I don't see using this camera for more than snapshots (unless you get in a crunch and have no other camera). You're not going to notice much noise at 4x6 or 5x7. If you have to print bigger prints, there's always noise ninja. Overall, I think the reviewer was expecting dslr performance out of a subcompact camera. That's just not going to happen for a while and I mean all around - not just image quality. I think what Casio has come up with is pretty impressive.
Now if they add solar panels. Well, that's a different story. At any rate, it's still a pretty cool vehicle. Just wish you could hear some kind of motor sound. That would take a while to get used to.
"Lotus doesn't get great gas mileage and I doubt the tank is that big, so it wouldnt get much more than 250 miles anyway."

Yeah, but it doesn't take 3 hours to fill up the tank! And forget about day long jaunts in the mountains on a nice twisty road. Where you gonna stop for a charge? Maybe they can setup little charging stations with squirrels running in hamster wheels hooked to a generator.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
