If you have the "deep pockets" to afford this device, then it will fit into your pocket :P.
My current Lenovo has a 15.4" WSXGA+ screen. Turning 15.4" into 9.8" will be a large difference, but you'll be able to see it. If Sony did not use a high resolution display and stuck with 1024x600 but turned into an ultrawide screen like 1024x480, too many programs would not fix vertically in the screen. Sony basically made an ultrawide screen version of WSXGA+, called UWSXGA+???
Of course it's overpriced! They keep adding on stuff they don't need and keep missing the important things!
Add on a 1280x800 touchscreen, a 6-cell battery, and a 64GB SSD!
I have used both the iPhone OS and WM6 many times. The iPhone doesn't lag as much and I haven't encountered a crash yet, but that's only because it's mostly all coded by Apple (the maker) and cannot do anything complicated that programs can on WM6. True, WM6 does glitch up often and requires a reset almost daily, but the functions of it outweigh those cons. Try a program called SPB Phone Suite and you'll realize why WM6 is better. I cannot type on the screen of the iPhone since it doesn't allow a stylus (or pen) and I hate the navigation for music in iPods. Unless you have all your music properly tagged and by album, it's a pain to find the song you just "downloaded legally" because you cannot navigate by folder! What I will give credit to Apple for is Safari on the iPhone. It's pretty good; however, Opera 9.5 on WM6 does it better now, but it was the inspiration that led to it.
^^Lol, close enough. Both give quite an audible "blast"... lol pretty corny joke.
Right... So no other company can manufacture anything that may resemble it? What ARE the similarities of these 2 devices? They look alike, and THAT'S ALL! One is some crappy OS while the other is WinCE (hopefully WM6 too). The touchscreens function differently, one off heat, one off actual touch. The cameras are different and the demographic is different. iPhones are for computer-illiterate while WinCE/WM6 is for those who actually use Outlook for work related purposes. Personally, I don't understand how people can live without Outlook and without a feature that syncs your phone with your computer. I want my phone to sync with my pc as soon as my pc is on and so I have all my files, contacts, music, notes, call records, and everything with me on the road. Can iPhones do that? On the most basic level, here is the difference between iPhone and M8:

M8 - Used to carry files & info in your pocket and function as a UMPC to ASSIST your life
iPhone - Used to listen to music and make calls and RUN your life
And also there's no WM6 on it... No outlook syncing on a phone? No way!
This makes it EVEN easier for "It Takes A Thief" lol.

RFID/GSM hack, anyone?
Damn, that's disappointing. I thought it would house a 8.9" LCD again. That looks like a 7" screen with media controls + speakers on the sides. Come on Sony! Maximize viewing real estate!
You can just get a pair of very very good earphones from Sony on Amazon for about the same price. I am using a $20 (on sale) pair of headphones along with the stock Meizu M6 earphones and both work well enough.

^For those that don't know what the M6 is, seriously, get off these forums!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
