GamePro reveals Halo Wars co-op, new units, controls and more {Xbox 360 Fanboy}
Jun 9th 2008 2:31PM Cautiously optimistic here, I can't tell from any of this if the co-op is online only (boo) or allows split-screen local co-op (yay!).
I'll admit I'm skeptical about playing RTS on the 360, as a long time C&C fan I excitedly downloaded the demo of C&C3 shortly after we got our 360 but was really really disappointed in the controls.
Being that HW is created for the 360, not created for PC and ported to consoles, I'm hopeful that it will be enjoyable.
Ford begins production of the Flex {Autoblog}
Jun 5th 2008 12:43PM The main reason it failed is that it got awful gas mileage, Ford advertised it and called it a "Crossover SUV" because if it were classified as a car (which it was) it would have destroyed their CAFE numbers.

Jun 5th 2008 12:40PM How is a full sized car dressed up to look like an SUV so we won't notice it's terrible gas mileage "new" for Ford?

Jun 5th 2008 12:38PM 24MPG for a car like that is NOT respectable.
They should have put the hybrid powerplant from the Escape HEV into that thing and pushed the mileage to ~35 City/40ish highway.

Gas buyers favor brand, not price {Autoblog}
Apr 22nd 2008 11:30AM Years ago I used to occasionally buy Arco because it's cheaper, I had a few tanks of bad gas and now swear off of it as well as all the "generics" (including Costco) which I assume to be Arco.
Of any of the major brands I don't really care, probably fill up at a Shell or a Chevron 9 out of 10 times, 76 seems to be on the pricey side, I try to avoid Mobil because I don't like what Exxon did to Mobil1 Motor Oil but I'll go there instead of Arco.
If there were Citgo in my area I'd go to Arco, or runout of gas and call AAA first.
TiVo's win over DISH Network upheld by court of appeals: It's over {Engadget}
Apr 11th 2008 3:56PM The TiVo is extremely reliable, has lots of features that the generic DVRs don't including:
1. Multi-room-viewing (which we use all the time)
2. The ability to watch downloaded video on your TV via TiVo (which we use regularly)
3. The ability to transfer shows from your TiVo to your PC for watching or burning to DVD (which we use regularly)
4. The ability to remotely schedule recordings (use occasionally)
5. TiVocast automatic content delivery
There are other features we don't use such as the Amazon Unbox movie "rental"
And that doesn't even talk about the core TiVo features that have been around forever such as suggestions, wishlist searching, etc.
As for cost, it sucks that they got rid of the Lifetime Service option, though they do bring it back periodically for special promotions, in any case, I haven't paid TiVo any money since I bought my last TiVo (which was right after they announced the end of lifetime service) But if I had to pay a monthly fee for TiVo I would with no regrets.
TiVo's win over DISH Network upheld by court of appeals: It's over {Engadget}
Apr 11th 2008 3:40PM I read on another site that Echostar is saying they will appeal to the SCOTUS.
The smart thing to do after they got caught was to make a deal with TiVo, failing that they should have settled after they lost the case, now it looks like Charlie Ergen's near-legendary hubris is keeping them on the dead-end path.
When this finally gets resolved, likely by SCOTUS refusal to hear the case and the eventual ruling that the so-called "workaround" still infringes on TiVo's patents I wouldn't be surprised to see Charlie shutting down the Dish PVRs rather than make a deal with TiVo.
TiVo's win over DISH Network upheld by court of appeals: It's over {Engadget}
Apr 11th 2008 2:55PM To each their own, I'm a happy Dish Network and TiVo customer, I'm still stuck with SD (despite owning an HDTV for 2 years) because my only two options are getting rid of TiVo or switching to TW Cable, both of which are simply not something I'm going to do.
Now hopefully I will be able to get a shiny new "DishTiVo" and make the switch to HD at last.
