I agree completely, our local Theatre has special performances of shows for those with hearing problems, they have screens on either side of the stage with the text on which could be less intrusive. This is similar like you see at Vue cinemas where they project subtitles over the picture in the corner.
The other option would be to put those filters over the screen like you see on ATM machines, which only allow those directly in front of the machine, to see the screen.
LG and orange need to learn the power of typing watch phone into google and then noting down the price range as I can pick up a watch phone for £250 sim free. Just because its got a metalic cover doesn't justify paying an extra £250 and specially being locked down to orange!
Lets hope that the user interface is better than the the orginall viewty and that the screen is better, had to send mine in for repair 4 times because of marks under the screen (including after fixing it) which btw would still be a problem if I hadn't got trading standards involved!
For those wondering! Yes you can use it to play games. I've just tried it with Medal Of Honour Allied Assault, however the mouse is recommended as trying to run around and then find the fir button is very difficult, plus when the cursor reaches the edge of the screen it won't go any further which is a slight limitation!! However the first can be overcome by switching all the keys round and using a keyboard character to fire.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"My father-in-law is heading back to school in the spring and wants a laptop for Christmas. The only catch is their budget is around $400 and he does not want a netbook. He's not very "tech savvy" at all and doesn't need a hoss of a machine (not that $400 could get you one). We would like to get it for him as soon as possible and would love some input."
