First off, those are PowerMac G5's, not Mac Pro's.

Second off, she could be in IT for some sort of graphical based firm that just upgraded all of their old G5's to Mac Pro's.

We have a cinema close to where I live that is now all-digital with Christie 2k projectors, and I have to say they look DAMN good.

If that is any indication of the direction of digital cinema, sign me up!
But at the same time I wouldn't lable him as "smart" either...
Have you considered that Lenovo is the Dell of China? Most home PC's in China are from Lenovo.

Also, while the Thinkpad line might be "bland" looking, some people have enough of a brain to choose function over form.
OMG THEY STOLD THIS IDEA FROM APPLE!
iCal only shows the correct date when it's open, and iTunes certainly doesn't display track information on it's icon.
I can't speak for their BD-R drive, but they make awsome DVD-RW drives. I have used them in the last 4 computers I have built and not a single one has ever had issues, they're fast, quiet, inexpensive.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
