@Raoul Duke

The Envy has a Core i7 and a radeon 4830, both of which are high performance, high heat-output parts. 1.04" thin for all of this is extremely good.
@(Unverified) A Core i7 at 1.6ghz is much more powerful than a higher clocked Core 2 Duo. Ghz aren't everything.
Change the keyboard and you can no longer call it a Thinkpad.

30" monitors are 2560x1600 res. So the screen size is very relevant to the performance limitations of the card. Like the article said, this is the first single-card that offers playable fps on a 30" monitor.
I've read reviews of netbooks that have screens with far better contrast and brightness levels than mid-range 15in laptops. MBP included. Wouldn't it be a GOOD thing to have a screen that was the quality of a netbook's? =\
It's convenient to hook things up to. Many places use old projectors with only VGA and other analog inputs. Examples would be businesses and schools. Places that invested early on with older technology and don't see the need to upgrade yet. Same reason why almost all business notebooks have VGA.
@ Entourage

But aren't HD videos and BluRay decoded through the GPU already, with the exception of HD flash videos.
The Problem with Latitude Z is they made the thinnest 16", but why would a road warrior want a 16" laptop? Footprint trumps thinness in terms of portability. What's the point of a super thin laptop if it doesn't fit on an airline tray? For $200 less, I can purchase a Thinkpad T400s and sacrifice a little thinness for a smaller footprint, built-in optical drive, and Thinkpad build quality.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
