Yeah - normally a "few days" turns out to be about 30 seconds on my phone. But this one has shown no progress since I started it 5 minutes ago over EVDO and WiFi. Something seems to be amiss - perhaps Palm's servers are getting hammered?
Yeah - MicroSD is right on. And as others have mentioned, Autofocus would be awfully nice. After playing with a 3gs, that's the only thing that made me think, "Dang, why doesn't my Pre have that?"

How many hours did I spend playing Drug Wars on my Clie during my 1st year of university? The answer is far, far too many.

At the mere thought of WebOS on a Clie, my Pre somehow seems tarnished and inadequate.
Rom cooking's already beginning, and the process shouldn't be too crazy thanks to Palm's rom flashing tool and the system's Linux base. But there isn't really as much need for this as there is for the SDK.

If you head over to the PreCentral.net WebOS Dev forums, you'll see that people are just starting to modify and create apps, but until the SDK becomes available, it'll be just "homebrew" style - nifty, but not always the most polished or full-featured.

As a Pre owner, I'm deeply disappointed that Palm won't have the SDK for another few months. The device has momentum now, and it'll be awfully hard to get that back if it's lost.

Ready or not Palm, make what you've got available, stick a "Beta" tag on it, and let us have a go.
@Galactor963 #&$! you. Now I've spewed perfectly good coffee all over my perfectly good iMac.
Hrm - nifty! If Tmobile's 3G service existed where I live and work, I might have a real doozy choosing between an iPhone / Pre / Magic. Thankfully for my indecisiveness, Tmobile's slowness (in my neck of the woods), and ATT's pricing (about $50/mo more than Sprint's for two lines with comparable minutes/features) make the Pre an easy choice for me.

You'll probably be able to get the New (AKA Far Less Awesome) SERO, which is 500 minutes + Unlimited Everything Else for $59.99 or $110 for 2 lines.

I'll be trying to negotiate a switchover from the awesome old SERO to New SERO + %Off Loyalty Discounts. We'll see.
Whether or not the Aeropress makes true espresso, the Handpresso most certainly does: http://www.handpresso.fr/index.html

Instead of a CO2 cartridge, it uses a bike-pump style pressurizer to get 16-bars. I've never used one, but at €100 - about the same price - I think I'd go for the Handpresso over something that requires me to buy CO2 cartridges.
Sure, it might be impossible to not be affected by a company that pays for your junket, and in an ideal world you'd be able to pay to attend every event, but if given the choice between "No Joystiq Coverage Whatsoever" and "Possibly Biased Joystiq Coverage", I'd take the bias. I mean, just clearly disclose when you're on a junket, and let you readers judge the bias.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
