I second that, as far as I know, the Sony eReader and Kindle do not have touchscreen input. So to compare those is to compare a tablet pc to a laptop. Which is normally not done.

I recently had a look at a sony ereader, and although I am a fan of Sony products, I think the screen size is too small. Anything smaller than a paperback (~7") is annoying to read.
Is that Dora the explora?
The other problem is that you can't really make a master for CD mass producing with V-shaped hills. Ridges are fine to electroplate, but metal doesn't electroplate into a hill shape by its self
at schmitty338 ...

Although I do believe that the US went to the moon. I have yet to find a telescope image of the landing site.

It's just too small. There hasn't been a telescope with enough resolution to make out 1 feet squares. But if you know of any, please post any.

There was a fly-bye by Smart-1, (a satelite from ESA) it did make pictures of the landing spot, but with (I think) 200 yard resolution. So no tracks that we can see.
I wonder if anybody ever returned a Steinman piano because it picked up dust.

Come on, are we still whining about things that pick up dust and grease? My mp3 player from 3 years ago apparently had this 'problem'. But for me (and I think many others) it just isn't a problem.

I want my screen to be integrated in the package because it is sturdier and doesn't have a rim around the screen. This rim will inevitably get dirty, and really hard to clean. Remember, a smooth surface will attract dust, but, a rough surface is much harder to clean. Look at your keyboard! That's an example of how dirty it gets when you have a rough surface. Your fingers are greasy, every time you touch something you put grease on that device, if you don't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there, on a smooth surface, at least you can get it off easily with a wipe cloth, try to do that with your keyboard.

So please, no more complaining about greasy smooth surfaces.
This will never change, and has always been the case. Inflation is currently really high in Ireland, so that's one. Things are more expensive here, because it is an island, and is a very small market (3.8 Million or so). Further, ever heard of 21% VAT?
Don't forget the Zune, that didn't make it over here yet....
It's just entertainment, no in sheep changin' going on.

And books don't turn you in to sheep?
ugh, ugh, bible, koran, torah, ugh, cough, ugh
:)

The 3D view is nice for when you're flying a helikopter.
I also think that the ability to attract smudges is overrated. To me it is really not a big deal. Everything with a big screen will get smudges, no doubt about that.

Some pmp's put the screen, buttons, everything, in one transparent package, which is smooth. For that reason they will get smudges much easier.

But this transparant, smooth, cover-all package is also much stronger, no edges that can get dirty, no buttons that can break, and so on.

How many pmp owners put them in a protective casing anyway....

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
