MacBook pricing and part numbers? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 14th 2008 12:22AM That is pretty odd...so the entry level MacBook gets a huge discount, the middle one stays the same...and the top level gets MORE expensive?
(Currently 1099/1299/1499)
OpenOffice 3 includes native version for Mac OS X {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 13th 2008 3:14PM I was always leery of Open Office because of compatibility concerns with my Windows work, but after reading Microsoft's Steve Ballmer blast his own product:
"You know, anywaycan you find the applications you want on the Mac? Well, you don't really get full Microsoft Office. "

I'm guessing its really not that big an issue whether I get OO or MS Office for Mac :p
Apple ships replacement USB power adapters {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 7th 2008 2:05PM No cable, just the adapter and the note telling you to return the old adapter (in a huge box) The box has a DHL return label underneath the label addressed to you, so don't tear it!

Oct 6th 2008 9:58PM According to the note in the box-if you don't return the old one, they will charge you $29...not sure how exactly they will do this.

Oct 6th 2008 9:30PM The green dot is not the only difference between my adapter and the new one that just came today-the metal prongs are quite different in shape.
Old one: rectangular at ends
New one: beveled at ends
Rumor: KOTOR MMO to be formally announced soon {Joystiq}
Oct 4th 2008 10:18PM That's fine, just as long as Lucasarts has a SEPARATE team hard at work on a non-MMORG KOTOR project. They do, right? RIGHT?
First Look: Grocery IQ for iPhone {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 4th 2008 5:45PM This looks pretty cool-I like the database idea-big chains like Safeway and Whole Foods should really get in on this to nail their customer bases, esp. as they have pretty standardized layouts.
I have been using Evernote for a shopping list. The formatting/checking off stuff isn't very good for this, but I use it because it has 2 pretty important features (to me, at least)
1) A desktop client, so I (or anyone in my family) can add stuff to the list as it occurs to them during the week.
2) Syncing from the desktop to the iPhone on the fly-in case someone wants to add something to the list while I'm enroute/shopping.
The email-out feature of Grocery IQ is nice, but I'd like an email-in feature to be truly useful. Again, my need is for a list that is a bit more collaborative-Grocery IQ looks like most of the other shopping lists available so far on the App Store in that they seem targeted at single shoppers.

Nostalgia, indeed :)
