And yeah 16:9 DOES NOT EQUAL Animorphic.

For a bunch of geeks you all seem to be lacking simple spatial-observation powers.
Engadget writers need to go to film school, or get a clue about lenses.

1.85:1 - shot on standard 16 - 35mm film and cropped
2.5:1 - animorphic, image is "squished" to a square via a lens onto 35 mm film. When you see lens flairs (helicopter lights are ideal) they're oblong or oval - not true circles - because of the "compression" to a square 35mm film then expanding out via another lens for projection.
Mac Mini... with a replacable battery?

Think before you type. Jesus.
"so that others could sleep safe at night."

Uh - who...Iraqis? Afghans? Don't think that many of them are sleeping safely.

Maybe Americans - although you're just as likely to get struck by lightning in bed than be a victim of terrorism.

This isn't the mid-20th Century, these service people aren't protecting anyone's homesoil, just their governments interests. Blech.
What a joke - it's a blog.

If you really care that much for the way language is used go to the WSJ, read Pogue and STFU.
"Talking Panda receives a ding for requiring an email address to download it"

Guh... much like Apple did last time I wanted a stand-alone installer for QT7, not a download via Software Update.
This thing looks good in photos - better than the fugly Xbox.

But in the flesh... that's a big damned box to be throwing curves like that around. Stupidly unstackable.
aliask has the right point here: we've been hearing bullshit rumours for nigh on 12 months now, it's long overdue as that "one more thing..." announcement.

AppleInsider is blathering crap - true or not - lets just wait until we see the damned thing. These rumours are boring me to tears.
"...with no actual benefit to the consumer."

I'll add... unless you've got an iPod, which applies to alot of people, i s'pose.
Bob is correct: 5 computers, any iPod, no idea (as in, don't really care) how the ROKR is integrated into it all. I reckon it doesn't need any authorisation though.

As for buying pre-ripped iTMS tracks - wtf? Why would you do that if you're buying in a physical format? Sounds like a lame attempt to "value-add" to the DVDs, with no actual benefit to the consumer.

Maybe if it came as Apple Lossless.. even with DRM that'd be sorta cool.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
