Gaming to Go: The World Ends with You {DS Fanboy}

Jul 24th 2008 12:34PM I must be getting old... keeping track of two screens is quite challenging, especially when the action is short and visceral. I find myself scribbling, slashing, poking on the bottom screen in a controlled frenzy...and I'm supposed to maintain control on the upper screen AT THE SAME TIME!?!

I'm on Day 5 of the game... so still learning. But I've got Shiki on auto play for now, which is disappointing since I rarely get Fusions. :-(

Super effective Pokemon bento {DS Fanboy}

Jul 23rd 2008 10:59PM I'll be visiting Japan this fall and I'm gonna buy these bento tools. They sell a great array of "nori stamps" (or seaweed stamps) that cut out perfect shapes that you can use.

Bento is like craft work!

My daughter is gonna feel waves of envy when she starts popping these open... She already prefers Japanese food over anything else, this will just push her over even more.

Feminists unhappy with Fat Princess {PS3 Fanboy}

Jul 22nd 2008 5:41PM Not so sure about this game, but as a licensed master gardener and botanist, I am totally offended by Flower. How dare they turn my tulips into a platformer. >:-(

Hands-on: Rag Doll Kung-Fu: Fists of Plastic {PS3 Fanboy}

Jul 22nd 2008 2:28PM This is disappointing! The rag doll control is precisely where the innovation is, not the setting or pretext. Without the innovation, this title falls flat...

What happened? I'm writing a letter to these folks. :-(

Not-So-Iron Fanboy: Cooking Guide Cook-Off {DS Fanboy}

Jul 22nd 2008 1:22PM Aside from the hilarity, this pretty much illustrates that cooking is a skill, not a recipe (eh? eh?).

Hey Chris - I think you oughta start a separate blog, just on your cooking antics! In fact, I'd wager if you cooked from the Cooking Guide on a regular basis, like any skills, yours will improve too. Begin to hone your skills for an ultimate demonstration of your new mastery of the kitchen on Thanksgiving 2008! It could be a glorious day... or an epic disaster.

The drama is already killing me.

Prince of Persia: The Fallen King's stock is rising {DS Fanboy}

Jul 22nd 2008 12:27PM I loved the original PoP (1989) and it's sequel, Shadow and the Flame. I also enjoyed the 3D variants of recent, but for entirely different reasons... Kinda like the difference between top-down 2D GTA v.s. the current lot of 3D GTA.

A good 2D PoP would certainly be welcome (think Metroid for the GBA), especially if it can capture some of the essence of the original. Drama, adventure, mystery, etc. Damn, those originals were good.

Hands-on: Super Stardust Portable {PSP Fanboy}

Jul 21st 2008 3:43PM Perfect for a portable title! Just enough of a quick play on my commute, looking forward to it.

BTW, is there any ad-hoc or infrastructure on this thing? On the PS3, there's the co-op mode and, of course, the ridiculous rankings.

How Mirror's Edge fights simulation sickness {Joystiq}

Jul 18th 2008 5:26PM True. Not a portal fan. Not because I don't like it, but because I've never played it.

I was a fan of Assassin's Creed for the first 3 or 4 cities. Then it became a chore.
